Job Description

Job overview

  • We are expanding our small and friendly manufacturing team based in Santa Clara, California.
  • This role plays an integral role in supporting our production activities.
  • QC experience is useful but not essential; Full on the job training will be provided and we encourage applications from candidates looking to learn new skills.
  • The successful candidate will undertake a range of quality control checks on our products as well as performing cleaning of some parts (using solvent or acid) and packaging parts securely for transportation.
  • Safety culture is a priority given the inherent higher risks and hazards of our industrial processes and working environment.
  • The ideal candidate will enjoy working independently in a structured manner and will look to support continuous improvement in quality control across production.

Duties and tasks

  • Delivering work safely and to a standard that ensures the health and safety of others.
  • Undertake visual inspection of production parts for defects.
  • Use measuring tools to check the physical properties of the product including dimensions, flatness, and roughness.
  • Maintain accurate records of the inspection process, entering data into manufacturing data systems.
  • Perform regular calibration checks on tools and work with our calibration vendors to ensure tools are calibrated according to the required schedule.
  • Read and understand technical drawings and product specifications.
  • Safely undertake solvent or acid cleaning processes for parts as required.
  • Proactively monitor customer complaints (QCs) and liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure resolution; this may involve investigation, root cause analysis and identifying corrective actions.
  • Assist in other manufacturing areas as required.
  • Contribute to improvement projects by performing trials and collecting and recording data.
  • Play a key role in the continuous improvement process by identifying problems and implementing solutions, with particular focus on improving performance, cost and delivery.
  • Be a role model for our E6 values.


  • Ability to undertake autonomous and safe working unsupervised when in our production areas.
  • A diligent worker with a keen eye for detail and right first-time approach
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn our processes and procedures; the successful applicant is required to work to very precise and exacting standards.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Background in QC preferred but not essential.
  • Exposure to technical drawings, metrology, inspection or measurement advantageous but not essential 
  • Must be able to multi-task; a flexible approach is critical to successfully deliver in this role.
  • Computer literacy to use QC tools/equipment and perform data acquisition.
