Element has an opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to partner with the Aerospace and Defense leadership teams. Reporting to the Aerospace and Defense Human Resources Director, you will provide strategic and tactical HR counsel and support. Based from Huntington Beach location, you will play a key support role in ensuring that HR policies, procedures, tactics and methods in support of Element’s overall HR strategy are communicated and implemented consistently throughout the Business Unit and at all stages of the employee life cycle.



Responsibilities

  • Develops and supports and implements Functional goals and objectives. Implements HR policies and strategy to assigned Lab
  • Administers employee relations activities and advises line leaders, managers and supervisors on employee  relations issues
  • Develops, implements, and administers programs and practices that ensure compliance with company policies, employment and labor laws. Develops and directs programs & practices to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements related to employment (EEO/AAP, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, etc.)
  • Manages recruitment and placement activities. Provides training advice and counsel to line leaders and managers in recruitment, selection, and hiring activities. Coordinates staffing and succession planning activities and implements performance management system utilization
  • Develops and delivers communications that support Company strategy and goals
  • Maintains effective communications with local media, public and government officials on behalf of the Business
  • Unit Leader at designated sites. Represents company interests associated with charitable causes


Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline required
  • Minimum 10 years HR experience, including supervisory/management expertise required, in a multi-site environment
  • PHR/SPHR designation would be advantageous but not required
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local Human Resources-related regulations
  • Willingness to travel as needed to various facilities
