Leads contract development and negotiation functions. Responsible for the development and implementation of contract management strategy.
Further develops best practices for contracting goods and services and provides training/mentoring to the organization on contracting best practices.
Leads trainings to engage and educate corporate-wide business departments to promote compliance with contract development practices and the role of the business unit after contract execution. Develops, implements, and oversees efforts to develop and design contract management systems, processes and procedures.
Serves as subject matter expert when presenting on complex deal concepts and non-standard provisions requiring leadership approval.
Acts as initial liaison with business units in compliance efforts to enforce adherence to corporate contract and policies.
Manages multiple high-visibility, high-priority contracts/projects on a regular basis and execute a variety of initiatives expeditiously with minimal oversight.
Works both autonomously and as part of a team (and many times as a team lead) to identify and analyze unique contractual relationships and draft terms to best fit the business relationship.
Identifies areas in which technology can be utilized to gain efficiencies relating to contract development and negotiation within the organization and, where appropriate, implements processes and systems to realize such efficiencies. Establishes metrics to measure progress with such processes and systems.
Performs all management duties including, hiring, performance reviews, coordinating and scheduling work, salary recommendations, discipline, ensuring employees report to work fit for duty, leadership, coaching, counseling, and modeling Alliant Energy’s Values at all times.
Performs work under the supervision of the General Counsel.
Supervises the work of professional, non-exempt and contingent employees engaged in contract services and administration.
