Roles & Responsibilities

Job Title:  Manager – MES Software System

Reports To:  Senior Manager or Director

FLSA Job Status:  Exempt

Basic Job Functions:  

The MES Software System manager drives and manages Projects,  Software System Development, Deployments and Support for strategic partners of the Manufacturing Enterprise Systems group. This includes manufacturing, quality, reliability, and safety. Manages MES Developer team as direct reports and Provide technical leadership. Responsible for ensuring timely response to manufacturing software system issues, implementing preventive measures to minimize downtime and meet MES System KPIs. Works in a dynamic, cross geo, innovation-oriented environment, prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously while building and developing a high performing team.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of related work experience
  • 2 - 4  years of team lead or supervisory experience or  2+ year of management experience

Education:

  •  Bachelor or Master Degree in IT or related field

Required Skills:

  • Software development experience with Microsoft .NET/C# & SQL Server technology platforms
  • Excellent understanding of enterprise data systems
  • Must have strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills with ability to drive to solutions both independently and working with cross functional teams
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, Service Fabric, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Angular and AngularJS
  • Demonstrated success in application support and IT change management
  • Proven Organizational and Managerial skills (mentoring, career management and collaboration)
  • Successful leadership of software development projects & processes using Agile methodologies
  • Proven ability to handle multiple, complex technical projects and have the flexibility to work in a very dynamic environment with global team
  • Excellent understanding of computer operating systems and software applications

Desired Skills:

  • Experience interfacing with Allen Bradley Logix PLCs, RSLinx software, and integrating manufacturing hardware and 3rd party software systems
  • Experience in Windows mobile applications, Digital Transformation, Industry 4.0 is a plus

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • MES System Operational Capability: Oversee MES operational development activities to meet business objectives, service level agreements, and MES System KPIs. Ensure resourcing and throughput of critical incidents and prioritized change requests as identified by business teams. Implement remediation strategies identified by the problem investigation process within specified timeframes. Coordinates the activities including on-call rotations and escalation procedures.
  • MES System Development Capability: Partner with key business leaders/stakeholders and Global MES team to assess/prioritize new requests, propose innovative solutions, assist with the initiation, governance review, and preparation of MES software projects. Supervise development team members to ensure successful implementation, delivery, and operation of prioritized solutions to meet business goals and IT standards.
  • Interfaces with solutions/project teams to ensure smooth support hand-off of new or modified applications and verifies that operational objectives are considered during development.
  • Maintains the focus of team projects and key change requests and communicates the status.
  • Managerial/Leadership: Manage MES Developer team as direct reports. Provide annual and quarterly goal planning and performance assessments, manage work assignments and load balancing, hold frequent 1-on-1 meetings, pay planning, hiring, training and career development planning. Play a leadership role in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Responsible for fostering collaboration, open communication, and team building.
  • Ability to handle conflicts, set priorities, attract/ nurture/ coach/ grow talent.
  • Drives a culture of critical thinking, innovation & continuous improvement.
  • Plan/Monitor annual budget/expenditure, ensuring targets are met.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensures adherence to all safety procedures. Execute Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls for software development lifecycle processes.
