To maintain/direct the maintenance of equipment and facilities to keep machines capable of producing quality products. Equipment may be mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical in nature. Minimize downtime of production by foreseeing potential problems and addressing them. Train Maintenance I and II.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Diagnose problems of inoperative equipment or faulty conditions.
Maintain/repair or recommend repair of deficient properties.
Be proficient in use of hand tools, maintenance and repair equipment, and assembly of new equipment.
Be proficient in building repair and maintenance including electrical service.
Do metal fabrication.
Perform all tasks as required of a Safety Sensitive position.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and equipment manuals
Be capable of designing/implementing preventive maintenance program
Train/assist other maintenance workers as needed
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

High school diploma
Five (5) years of experience in general maintenance
Proficient knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, air, and steam equipment
Basic mathematical capabilities such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to prepare/analyze figures
Basic verbal and written communication skills required
Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel
Provide standard hand tools used in performance of job function
Experience with hydraulic, electrical, PLC, welding, pneumatic, plasma, torch, rigging, aerial lifts, voltage meters and forklift
PLC knowledge for troubleshooting and programming
Heavy physical effort may be required
Prolonged standing/walking/bending/twisting/crouching/squatting/balancing and crawling
Occasional lifting up to 100 pounds
Repetitive motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder or neck movement
Forceful hand grasp
Use of finger tips for pinching or retrieving small objects occasionally with precise dexterity
Awkward postures of neck, shoulder, wrist, elbow or fingers
Frequent work in confined spaces or close quarters
Use of vibrating tools
Seeing to visually inspect, measure/assemble at close distance
Able to distinguish colors
Frequent use of forklift, power tools, slicing/cutting equipment, machinery and machinery that produces excessive heat

Frequent exposure to dangerous machinery and high voltage
Exposure to extreme weather conditions
Frequent potential of physical harm
Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals/fumes/gases/smoke/dust/wet and damp
Occasional exposure to extreme heights
Exposure to high noise level, dark environments with dim lighting and bright environments or lighting
