We are looking for a Service Engineer to the Workshop to join our team


Location for the position is Gdańsk. The position is permanent. 


What will you be doing?


As a Service Engineer in the Workshop, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Fulfil all tasks ordered by the Foreman -Team Leader
  • Assist Manager/Foreman to lead the workshop team and carry out 4- stroke Engine components overhaul and service in the workshop
  • Ensure all necessary work were done by good quality, all necessary paper works, documentation and service reports are in order
  • Preparation skill and submit a spare parts requisition as required
  • Maintain the quality & efficiency of mechanical work performed (as measured by warranty costs), & in accordance with manufacturers specifications & ISO procedures
  • Use and maintain shop and field tools in accordance with good mechanical-work practices
  • Accurate & timely care of Wärtsilä specialty tools (field & shop) used to perform workshop work
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with job performance & through positive interactions with customers
  • Adherence all Wartsila regulations, policies, work procedures & instructions and as well as Polish labour law.
  • Adherence to all safety rules and use of all appropriate safety equipment

You will shine in this role when you have:

  • University degree (Mechanical) or Technical school (preferably Mechanical) 
  • Good English (written and verbal skills)
  • Native Polish 
  • 5 years working experience in diesel or gas engines and repair/maintenance 
  • Able to work as a team player 
  • Being open to learning and being taught. 
  • Not having an obstacle to travel. Readiness to travel max 2-4 times 1-2 weeks per year.
  • The candidate should be able to work under pressure as well as the flexibility to take part in overtime and weekend shifts if needed.
  • Strong ability to plan and organize the work
