To be part of the Installation and M&E engineering team of GE Wind Offshore. The team is responsible for the supply of all the transport and installation tools for GE Wind Offshore projects around the world. The team is leading and supervising the design, manufacturing, supply of the tools and the final assembly process of the Wind Turbines, including all documentation, certification and installation procedures related. The engineer will work on the definition of methods and tools for the pre-assembly of the turbine tower sections at the marshalling harbor area in close relationship with the marshalling harbor managers and the offshore installation team. He/she will also support the installation engineering department in the definition of onshore logistic for heavy component and heavy lift operations. The candidate will participate to the operations of the french project PBG in execution in Saint Nazaire with strong follow-up of assembly operation at the pre-assembly site.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Define with Engineering team the interface for transport and lifting of tower sections
Responsible for the preparation of the internal tower pre-assembly documentation
Responsible to review and approve pre-assembly operation documentation from marshalling harbor subcontractor (transport and lifting documents)
Define and specify civil work requirements for the storage and the pre-assembly of the Haliade-X tower including ground bearing consideration, geotechnical requirement and acceptance criteria
Define, specify and engineer tower section storage tools for various configurations
Act as project manager in the engineering and manufacturing of the tower stands
Follow the manufacturing and ensures delivery plan and quality
Attend kick-off meetings, FAT, SAT and final reception as well as leading follow-up meetings and interface with certification bodies
Support and report to the tool lead engineer in the definition of new installation tools based on new methodologies discussed during workshops with other Wind Business stakeholders
Support the tender team for the quotation of marshalling harbor in relation to tower assembly
Qualifications/Requirements
Master’s degree or equivalent in mechanical/Civil engineering
Eligibility Requirements
Minimum 4 years’ experience in similar role
Experienced in onshore heavy lift preferably in the offshore wind field
Experienced in transport systems and logistic of heavy components (Reachstaker, SPMT, onshore crane)
Experienced in civil work for preparation of construction site
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
Fluent in English both spoken and written
