Job Title: Business Apprentice - Quality 

Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire

The UK Head office  operates from Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire and employs around 350 people.

LEONI is now recruiting for our 2022 company Apprenticeship Scheme intake .We have lots of exciting opportunities to join a number of key business areas of LEONI, so this apprenticeship is suitable for individuals who are at the start of their career and wish to take their first steps into professional business management.

Therefore; if you have, a passion for business, a keen desire to learn, good problem solving skills and have a keen eye for detail then our apprenticeship maybe what you’ve been searching for.

Course overview:

Apprenticeships level: Degree Business Apprenticeship

Course: Operations Departmental Manager Higher Apprenticeship - Level 5.

Study Location:  Staffordshire University

Course duration: Study part time for 18 months

Course certification: University Diploma in Leadership & Management and ILM Diploma for Leaders and Managers

On-the-job Overview:

Work Location: LEONI HQ Newcastle-under-Lyme

Working week: Mon – Fri (half day Friday)

Paid hours per week: 37.5 hours

Wage: £15,000 per annum

Expected duration: Fixed term contract 2 years (Successful Apprentices will secure a permanent position after 2 years.) 

Closing date: 22nd July 2022

 Start date: September 2022

This apprenticeship is to become an integral member of  the Quality function within LEONI. This post shall learn and spend time in all the Quality functions  to understand the Main Elements of the LEONI Integrated management system (QMS) and Leoni Productivity System (LPS). Activities include:

  • Understand the samples of wire harness in the form of understanding drawings, late changes, re-works, containment and deblock
  • Understand and support Key Quality/LPS systems and processes of IMS and QMS
  • Root Cause Analysis and 8D reports
  • Track side support namely handling customer complaints, feddback processes to the plant, harness fit analysis, containment actions 
  • APQP Team responsibilities and processes
  • Review harness and component approval processes and CIP software

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Level 4 or above (Grade C or above) with GSCE Maths and English at minimum Level 6 (Grade B) or above
  • Three A Levels at grade C or above (1 in Business Studies or a related subject), or a Business BTEC Extended Diploma with triple distinction can be accepted as an alternative to the A Levels.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable and flexible
  • Ideally experience using MS Office package i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Organised
  • Willingness to learn
