*This position can be filled in Woodlands, TX, New Orleans, LA, or Little Rock, AR* Postion Purpose:This role provides support for real time specific applications for the business unit.  The primary responsibility is to provide operational model maintenance and support of Entergy’s DMS/OMS system. Primary Duties & Areas of Responsibility:Provide operational support, ensuring production systems and devices are online and availablePerform the Model Management process to update the network operations modelIdentify and make changes required in the Model Manager ConfigurationUse the Substation Editor tool to convert SCADA displays into Substation internal models containing network topology and equipment parameters not found in GIS modelsSupport effort to identify GIS Adapter model deficiencies and recommend QA/QC routines to support teamReview Validation messages and correct errors as neededFrequently review GIS, SCADA, Customer, and Crew datasetsPerform periodic maintenance related to modeling datasets and secure missing data elementsAssist the Engineers with troubleshooting errors during model update processEffectively communicate technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writingProvide an interface with software vendors for discussion, consultation, problem solving and best upgrade practices on the 3rd party systemsProvide project and vendor oversight and facilitate communications with other internal organizations including, but not limited to compliance, security, legal and procurementConduct business analytical studies to integrate business needs into system wide development plans to ensure the System Business Unit needs are metAnalyze user processes and requirements to identify, design and implement process improvementsParticipate in the team 24 hour on-call rotation Experience:6+ years’ experience (or 5 years w/advanced degree) of relevant technology delivery with Subject Matter Expertise for Distribution or Operations TechnologyStrong track record of relevant technology deliveryDesign, development and testing of real time systems applications and enhancementsStrong understanding of client business needs and objectivesOther position that would support the development and progression into this position would include the following:  IT Consultant  Critical Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Ability to work in a fast pace and dynamic environment, including work outside of normal business hoursAbility to support real-time systemsKnowledge of the operation of the electric power and/or distribution systemsUnderstanding of GIS and network topology concepts and structuresAbility to support cyber security activities such as, system hardening, patch management, and configuration managementAbility to support of fraud and computer forensics research Leadership Style/Characteristics: Highly motivated and ability to work with little direct supervisionEffective Teamwork and Inclusion (e.g. works collaboratively, builds collaborative relationships)Very Good written and oral communication skillsAbility to act as a lead or technical expert Minimum Educational Background and Physical Requirements Required to perform Job:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical degree or Equivalent Experience #li-jl1Primary Location: Texas-The WoodlandsJob Function: Information TechnologyFLSA Status: ProfessionalRelocation Option: No Relocation OfferedUnion description/code: NON BARGAINING UNIT-NBUNumber of Openings: 1Req ID: 99360Travel Percentage:Up to 25% An Equal Opportunity Employer, Minority/Female/Disability/Vets.
