Our client is one of Southeast Asia’s leading players in energy infrastructure & urban development. They are headquartered in Singapore and have grown steadily amidst the Covid-19 pandemic by capitalizing on opportunities to further their expansion plans in nearby emerging markets. A role has now opened for an Assistant HR Manager to join them in supporting their regional business units as they continue to scale and grow. This role is ideal for a HR Generalist or C&B Specialist looking for exposure to regional M&A activities and HR business partnering.
The successful incumbent will join a high-calibre HR team that assists with the company’s ambitious regional growth plans. The company has seen much success in recent years as they furthered their business strategies across Southeast Asia via means of new market setups, mergers & acquisitions, and joint ventures. You will be deeply involved with these regional growth plans as a trusted advisor to regional stakeholders in setting up new offices, integrating acquired subsidiaries, and participating in joint venture discussions. You will be supported by local HR members in the respective countries – Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, China – but are relied upon to oversee strategic aspects of HR ranging from compensation planning, salary benchmarking, job evaluation & grading, recruitment strategizing, manpower budgeting, and employee engagement. You will also work closely with Group HR to run HR initiatives before implementing them across the region.
You should be degree-qualified with at least 4-7 years of HR experience. You should be a hands-on HR Generalist familiar with full spectrum HR – albeit with a focus on Compensation and Benefits. You should be comfortable with reviewing regional payroll though the calculation & running of payroll is taken care of by another HR team-mate. You may also be expected to make business trips 4-5 times a year due to the regional scope of this role; but of course, this is pending further reopening of our travel borders.
