R+L Carriers is expanding its Information Technology Department in Wilmington and Columbus, Ohio, and has an immediate opening for a Network Engineer .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Implement approved Network changes in accordance with applicable procedures.
On call as required .
Designing, building, deploying, and administering complex security tools.
Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN while evolving the infrastructure with newer technologies in a multi-tenant environment
Research hardware and software solutions and create plans, including layouts and product specifications, for all data communication networks resulting from meetings
Track firmware levels and upgrade any security or bug related versions
Design, Configure, and install Cisco Routers and Switches in accordance with specified standards.
Perform scheduled maintenance including software updates and off hours testing
Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability.
Issue outage reports, trouble tickets, and dispatch maintenance personnel as required
Act as liaison between vendors, and internal or external organizations to ensure timely transition of fix and maintenance activities
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

5+ years' experience installing and supporting data network solutions
3+ years' experience supporting Cisco routing and switching protocols
Experience in assisting with designing complex data network architectures
Experience supporting network security platforms – ASA, Palo Alto, LTM/ASM/GTM a plus
Experience working with Cisco ACI a plus
CCNA or equivalent experience required; CCNP level certifications a plus
