We currently have an opening at our Foothill Ranch, CA (Orange County) facility for a Power Electronics Technician. The Power Electronics Technician will work under the supervision of the Power Management Department Team Lead, performing installations, repairs and/or replacement of a variety of electrical and power electronics components used on our experimental plasma reactor. This is a full-time position with rich comp package.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the assembly, installation, and testing of electrical related components
  • Follow service guides, schematics and manufacturer specifications.
  • Repair or replace defective components
  • Reassemble and test equipment after equipment repairs are completed.
  • Create test plans, co-ordinate with commissioning team and test systems.
  • Complete assignments individually and efficiently in a multi-system environment.
  • Coordinates with subcontractors

 

Required Skills:

  • Electronics and Electrical test equipment: multi-meters, voltage and current probes, oscilloscopes, functional generators, power analyzers, LCR meters, electronics AC/DC loads.
  • Must be able to correctly identify electrical and electronics components;
  • Knowledge of various electrical components;
  • Experience reading and interpreting assembly/test instructions, engineering standards/prints, and schematics;
  • Basic Power Electronics knowledge a plus;
  • Previous experience with Power Electronics equipment installation, commissioning and maintenance;
  • Ability to use basic hand tools, drills & air tools;

Software Knowledge and Skills:

  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office

Additional Requirements:

  • Spanish language a plus
  • Attention to detail and a strong ability to focus on key attributes are important.
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to stay on task with good attention to detail;
  • Must maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Education:

  • Required Education: Associates Degree in Electrical Technology
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor Degree in Electrical Technology
