Monitor boiler plant and processing plant daily performance
Identify areas for improved production and reduced cost, boiler cleaning and process plant improvements
Attend daily facility performance review meetings.
Assist in outage preparations, review engineering drawings for repairs/upgrades, submit FCN notices for improvements
Revise/Develop specifications for scope of works to be accomplished and execute projects
Oversee contractors during job performance
Provide engineering support for the Process and Powerhouse maintenance and Operations staff
Provide asset improvement project engineering and management
Coordinate with regional and corporate engineering groups to enhance/improve facility availability
Assure facility complies with all technical standards and service bulletins

Principal Accountabilities

Responsible for managing safe working behavior of the reliability team, demonstrating a high regard for personal and team EHS performance, sustaining a zero overdue status of investigations and actions
Meet the site target of zero overdue compliance actions in terms of Quality actions and documentation updates Produce and implement the site reliability policies for all equipment and systems, ensuring all planned routines are correctly specified and critical spares are available to allow the maintenance team to effectively complete tasks.
Site lead for all engineering Root cause analysis and implementation of long-term engineering solutions to prevent reoccurrences, manage KPI’s including Run Hours, Mean Time Between Failure (MBTF) and Cost to repair of equipment and systems.
Work with the responsible engineers to Implement technical standards assuring all assets remain fully compliant with Covanta Tech Standards
Supply reliability status monthly reporting figures, analyze trends and develop improvement projects to address the issues of concern, make continuous improvement a way of life.
Contribute to site capital investment process, highlight all engineering projects which have a benefit to the site
Responsible for developing and implementing the site predictive/preventative engineering policies
Determine best maintenance practices for specific pieces of equipment and/or equipment types
Evaluates and quantifies the impact projects such as equipment reconfigurations, design changes, equipment quality, will have on ability to meet customer needs
Generate and utilize Pareto Charts to identify and analyze equipment failures to prioritize maintenance functions and equipment improvements
In the CMMS, update equipment data, preventive maintenance task lists, critical spare parts lists and diagnostic methods as necessary to improve reliability
Perform root cause failure analysis on equipment failures and develop strategies to prevent recurrence
Risk assessment and risk mitigation methodologies (FMECA, HAZOP, RCM, …)
Responsible for the reliability and failure minimization of all equipment in the respective area to which he/she is assigned
You coordinate multi-disciplinary teams consisting of Production Managers, Maintenance Managers, Project Engineers, Supervisors, Operators, and craftsmen, using RCM, FMEA and other methodologies
You realize this by maximizing the reliability of the equipment at an economically Total Cost of Ownership
You organize proactive Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) - sessions and reactive root cause analyses

BS Engineering (Mechanical preferred) with 1-3 years power plant experience or industrial experience. Energy from Waste experience a plus. Position requires excellent knowledge and training with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Microsoft Project. Working knowledge of conveying equipment and boilers coupled with project management skills including the ability to lead technicians, contractors, consultants and engineers.
