If you are an Electrical Design Engineer looking to grow your career, Emerson has an exciting opportunity available for you in our Eden Prairie, MN location! We are looking for someone to join our team to help solve flow measurement problems using a strong knowledge of underlying physics involved in the electrical measurement and circuit design.
A relocation bonus may be considered.
PRODUCTS WE ENGINEER:
AS AN ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
We design and develop products that deliver highly accurate flow measurements, up to 0.25%. In magnetic flowmeters this requires generating controlled magnetic fields to induce a microvolt signal which is converted, temperature compensated, and communicated in analog or digital forms to higher level control systems. They are capable of Modbus, Fieldbus, Ethernet, Profibus, 4-20 mA and local display outputs, while being both explosion proof and intrinsically safe.
Vortex Flowmeters capture an extremely small mechanical movement using a piezoelectric sensor which is processed similarly to magnetic flowmeters and sent to control systems. Each of these products is used in a wide variety of industries helping to improve the efficient use of our natural resources, produce the products we all rely on, and ensure the safety of workers.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Develop innovative design concepts for analog and digital electronic circuits
- Develop concepts for new signal processing techniques
- Conduct tests to validate design concepts
- Provide technical expertise and be seen as a leader in the department
You find and champion the best creative ideas and actively move them into implementation. You show a tremendous amount of initiative in tough situations and are exceptional at spotting and seizing opportunities. You push yourself and help others achieve results. You facilitate an open dialogue with a wide variety of contributors and stakeholders. You enjoy the challenge of unfamiliar tasks. You maintain a positive attitude and forward-thinking approach despite troubling circumstances or setbacks.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Eight (8) or more years of applicable work experience
- Experience with electronic hardware design including analog circuit design, A/D converters, low noise circuits, analysis, and simulation
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred
- Ten (10) or more years of experience in electrical engineering
- Signal processing
