We have an exciting opportunity for an Azure Platform Engineer to join our Group Technology and Change team in either our Edinburgh or Wilmslow office on a permanent basis
The main purpose of this role is to configure and support our Azure tenancy.
Key Accountabilities Collaboration with our solution designers to translate any designs into Infrastructure as Code Managing changes, via appropriate change control, for tenancy wide or product wide changes Identify, respond to, investigate and resolve incidents and problems that impact service operation, playing a key role with any major outages of the Cloud service(s) Develop automation for all aspects of platform service management including patching, upgrades, changes, applying DevOps principles and toolchain Implement appropriate automation for all aspects of platform service management including patching, upgrades, changes, applying DevOps principles and toolchain, exploiting cloud, container and infrastructure-as-code capabilities Understanding changes to Azure cloud services and being able to configure them specific to the organisation Experience in overseeing the service delivery and supporting colleagues An understanding of a range of Core Azure services covering their SaaS/PaaS/IaaS offerings Experience working and understanding of networks and how Azure can be affected by differing configurations / workload
Essential Criteria Experience with utilising PowerShell to configure and control the service Ability to configure bases Azure services via standard “Infrastructure As Code” software e.g. TerraForm, ARM Templates, Ansible etc. Experience in setting up systems in Azure Azure DevOps & Configuring CI/CD pipelines previously An excellent communicator and comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels Strong problem solving and decision making skills Comfortable working independently and within a team environment
Desirable Criteria Experience in migrating other systems in Azure Experience/comfortable working in an agile environment Experience of administering Windows or Linux systems Working in a regulated environment previously
