Product Line Manager - Controls/Software

NOV Anderson, TX Full-Time


  • Direct and define software requirements to software development team
  • Engineering, design, and develop electrical control systems
  • Project manager for manufacturing of existing control systems
  • Plan, develop, and execute new product development
  • Represent NOV and present software related material and topics to customers
  • Procure materials needed to construct prototypes and direct engineering of new designs.
  • Serve as technical expertise in system integration, system integrity, hardware, I/O and communication
  • Monitor software quality to ensure that products meet our customers’ expectations
  • Define and implement metrics, collect and analyze customer/ testing feedback, and strengthen reporting and analytic capabilities
  • Effectively manage engineering efforts, including forecasting, time allocation, budgets and reporting of staff requirements
  • Provide ongoing support of engineering initiatives in cross functional teams
  • Evaluate, analyze, and make recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
  • Continually evaluate department processes, methods, and activities to assure the most effective use of resources and equipment
  • Perform related duties as required


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in machine control, industrial I/O, complex circuit design
  • Familiarity with PLC programming and software processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Fluent in CAD (Solid works and AutoCAD)


  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Must be action oriented and willing to embrace new challenges
  • Ability to work in dynamic and fluid environment
  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills
  • Must be able to create new processes and demonstrate sound judgment
  • Possess ability to anticipate challenges and effectively resolve conflict by identifying opportunities
  • Must demonstrate a strong orientation towards teamwork and collaboration


  • Knowledge of power systems and processes – electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic
  • Knowledge of standard manufacturing processes and practices
  • Oil & Gas industry experience a plus
