We currently have an opening at our Foothill Ranch, CA (Orange County) facility for an Electrical Test Engineer. As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will analyze and communicate product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine proper test methods are followed that will meet customer expectations. This is a full-time position with an attractive compensation package.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will analyze and communicate product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine proper test methods are followed that will meet customer expectations
  • Lead and own test plan definition for new products and new features, in collaboration with firmware, software, and hardware design teams
  • Determine test strategies that optimize product safety, product reliability, risk mitigation, FMEA coverage, and schedule
  • Design and implement next-generation test hardware systems to facilitate fast and repeatable testing of product
  • Develop test procedures and test automation from component level to system level
  • Support Design Engineer with DFT, provide feedback from test results to improve quality and test coverage
  • Support quality field failure analysis
  • Plan and develop experimental test programs through analytical assessments with product engineering
  • Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications
  • Confer with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and determine appropriate corrective actions
  • develop reporting tools and utilize statistical analysis techniques to communicate testing results to inter-departmental stakeholders
  • Manage purchasing, build, integration, and final commissioning of functional testers

 

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing functional test equipment and PCBAs
  • Understanding of peripherals and developing test and validation strategies
  • Experience with computer hardware communication bus protocols: USB, I2C, I2S, CSI, Ethernet, SPI, PCIe, HDMI, CAN, etc
  • Experience in LabVIEW is a plus
  • Experience with hands-on electrical engineering work
  • Experience designing custom PCBAs
  • Understanding both hardware and software integration and test process
  • Understanding of lab safety protocols when working in all types of the lab environment
  • A detail-oriented individual who strives in an environment that values effective team collaboration
  • Self-motivated: Demonstrate ability to set direction and proactively identify and fills gaps where needed
  • Ability to develop test fixtures based on defined test requirements
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling programs such as SolidWorks
  • Experience in Altium is a plus
  • Test Engineer must be able to coordinate or lead employees at different levels of the organization
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical reasoning and solution-focused problem solving
  • Experience with developing, and implementing test fixtures and equipment is a plus
  • Experience with high volume manufacturing of consumer goods is a plus
  • Understanding of product regulatory requirements such as IEC, UL, CSA, ISO is a plus

  • Bachelor\u0027s Degree or Master\u0027s Degree in Electrical Engineer or equivalent
