Basic Job Functions:

Manage a team of technical staff in the shift. Plans and supervises the scheduling of daily work assignments of all shift technicians. Responsible for training and developing direct reports and setting objectives. Provides direction to shift technicians, contractors and vendors to ensure that First Solar’s standards are met. Conduct shiftly Passdown and ensure all technicians adhere to safety compliance. Responsible for working with the appropriate departments to handle employee relations issues. Ensure the shift has sufficient resources to support operation.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

- Responsible for the scheduling of daily work assignments to all maintenance personnel.
- Develop and train maintenance technicians on the day-to-day routine jobs.
- Responsible for handling disciplinary issues related to his team members.
- Supervises the on-site services and repairs of equipment including critical spare parts inventory.
- Ensures all contractors and on-site vendors adhere to Company Safety Procedures and documentation.
- Interfaces with other departments, supplier personnel and on-site vendors.
- Supervises the troubleshooting and servicing of all energy sources on all equipment and is responsible for the preventative maintenance program.
- Manages the timely completion of special projects as required.
- Responsible for effective communication levels and fosters team building.
- Identifies and recommends opportunities for cost savings.
- Oversee and ensure Maintenance/Equipment Engineering associates properly manage the hazardous waste generated from maintenance activities.
- Inform EHS Department of any waste management issues that arise or any new associates need to be trained.
Experience:

- 8 years of maintenance/equipment engineering experience in manufacturing environment with a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
- Knowledge of robotics or vacuum technology is an added advantage
Education:

- Diploma or Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering field desired
Required Skills:

Behavioral:
- Excellent communications skills in both written and verbal

- Proven organizational and supervisory skills
Technical:
- Electrical and Mechanical knowledge required
- Knowledge of Vacuum Technology or Robotics operations preferred.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office and CMMS application
- Familiar with SAP and Oracle system

- Will sit and stand for long periods of time during the day
- Will walk, climb stairs and on equipment
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist
- May lift up to 25Kg
- Required to use hands to touch, lift, handle, carry or feel objects
- May stoop, kneel or bend during PM and troubleshooting activities.
- Specific vision abilities are required
- All associates working on the production floor may be required to wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) i.e. respirator at any given time or when carrying out some of the assigned task and thus, the ability to wear appropriate PPE as defined in the WI (work instruction) is a condition of employment and continued employment (as per EHS requirements/spec)
