The purpose of the position is to utilize knowledge of motor control hardware design, development and modeling, and related experience to design and develop new variable speed drive products as well as redesign existing products.
Design, develop and test the variable speed drives for variable speed compressor.
Understand the industry dynamic, participate in drawing up the new product development plan
Develop or assist in developing hardware design documentations such as design specifications, test specification, hardware architecture documents and schedule
Conduct design calculation to pass the requirements of functionality, power stress ratio, worst case analysis and other analysis
Perform board design including schematics, PCB Layout and establish design rules.
Conduct and participate in hardware design reviews
Participate in the engineering pilot run
Develop and document hardware test procedures and standards for engineering
Develop and assist in performance and qualification testing of the hardware
Lead the effort on compliance of agency approval, e.g. UL, VDE and EMC
Communicating with the US and global engineering department about the product development and the project schedule, make sure finish the project on time.
- BS degree on electronics engineering (or above) plus 3 years working experience on power electronics products
- Strong problem-solving skills, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work on multiple projects with global team simultaneously
- Experience in good PCB layout skills and EMC trouble shooting skills for power electronics products are especially important.
MS degree in Power Electronics
Familiar with EMC design standards and rules
PCB design and layout, electronics assembly processes
Familiar with Cadence is a plus
Fluent English communication skills both written and oral
