PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
 
The Centralized Financial Analyst role will support accurate planning, reporting and analysis of nuclear operations and corporate functional areas. Aside from managing and reporting certain cost centers or types, position will also support ad hoc requests from various internal and external sources to facilitate decision-making and provide necessary insight to executives and managers. This position will also provide support to sites during peak periods as needed. Individual must be flexible, proactive, and comfortable working with ambiguity. Individual should be interested in using new technologies and continuous improvement. Individual must be able to commit to the time requirements of this position, which may demand extended hours as required.
 
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide financial analysis and reporting for nuclear site operations and corporate functional areas. Work with personnel to control and manage costs. Forecast performance against goals, plans and budgets. Bring a financial perspective to daily operations. Prepare and review month-end, quarterly and full-year forecast/reports up to and including monthly financial close packages, quarterly management meeting presentations, and annual budget reviews. 
Support each monthly financial closing including pre- and post-close work, providing all required reporting to corporate center and site management. Ensure proper accounting treatment is followed and monitor adherence to corporate policies and procedures. Prepare various periodic reports to communicate performance in areas such as labor, contracted services, and other expenses. 
Support development of long-range on-line and outage financial plans for various corporate support and site departments.
Perform department cost reporting for both on-line and outage- planning & tracking.
Review and process site and corporate labor forecasting and budgeting and prepare tracking reports and analysis as required.
Lead weekly / monthly financial performance reviews with business owners/departments.
Work with Manager to develop and oversee the work product of more junior financial analysts in the group and provide training and guidance as required.
Perform periodic Ad-hoc reporting, analyses and special projects at the request of Management.
Support other sites as needed during peak work periods and/or to cover staff shortages.
Identify areas of potential process / work product improvements or efficiencies across the fleet and assist in implementing recommendations.
Establish and maintain fleet analyst onboarding training materials.
 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
4 year degree in a business-related field with 5 to 8 years business-related experience and demonstrated success in finance or business operations.
Effective financial analysis skills, combined with effective written and verbal communication skills.
Exposure to accounting principles, financial metrics and financial statement relationships.
Working knowledge of Business Operations & industry practices.
Thorough computer-base analytical skill (e.g. Access, Excel, Power Point, database management).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA/CPA
Expertise in PeopleSoft and financial systems
