Job Description

The MacIntyre Wind Farm Precinct will be ACCIONA’s biggest renewable energy facility and one of the largest onshore wind farms in the world.

ACCIONA are seeking to engage a Site Engineer for our Earthworks team on Macintyre Windfarm project in QLD. This position can be either local to Warwick, QLD or drive in, drive out on a 10/4 roster. Reporting to the Project Engineer, these roles have primary responsibility for ensuring the effective coordination and control of Engineering Works for a designated Project through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement and quality control based on ACCIONA standards; and facilitating effective communication and coordination between all disciplines and all other project activities relevant to work crew.

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate in defining work methods, techniques, and tools to improve the project’s quality, timelines, and costs
  • Coordinates fundamental systems, equipment, products and tools that support the production of projects and services
  • Maintain daily site diary of all activities in your work area
  • Ensure that program is communicated to subcontractors, suppliers and internal staff
  • Conduct tender interviews, assess and evaluate subcontractor submissions and perform evaluation and expenditure approval for engagement of subcontractors
  • Provide feedback to subcontractors on submission and reason for loss/award of tender
  • Conduct subcontractor start up, weekly meetings and manage all conformance to contract terms and conditions
  • Ensure all contractual requirements are met, including making recommendation to the Construction Manager for award of practical completion
  • Control schedule and all inputs and outputs for the management of an area of work. Implement prompt corrective action and reporting if targets are not being achieved.
  • Manage design of temporary works
  • Obtain necessary reviews, approvals and certifications, ensure third party sign off or independent verification of temporary works design

Required Skills and Competencies

You will have completed a bachelor’s degree in engineering with proven experience with Earthworks on Major Construction Projects in the capacity of Site Engineer. Knowledge of engineering project management principles with an in-depth understanding of engineering and site management principles will be essential for this role, as will having a collaborative and innovative approach to solving challenges.
