Summary

Manage the collection and analysis of market intelligence through data sourcing, collection, structuring, consolidation, cleansing, categorization as well as the preparation of analytics to support the decision-making of E&W management

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Identify and maintain data sources for Energy to ensure that Energy data sources database is up-to-date 
  • Manage the creation of data request templates for Energy to source data to ensure the standardization of data requests
  • Manage the process of data restructuring and formatting as the received data can be in different formats (csv, xls, txt, etc.) and ensure it is restructured to fit the Energy structure and templates
  • Manage the process of data consolidation in order to ensure that data from all sources is consolidated to form one repository
  • Manage data cleansing, cleaning, and identifying and eliminating inaccuracies from data to ensure that the data repository of Energy is structured, accurate, complete, consistent, and cleaned from inaccurate or irrelevant records
  • Manage data grouping to standard categories to ensure the standardization and categorization of data for the for the models and analytics
  • Identify and collect data through using data providers (ideally with Bloomberg, BNEF) of key industry trends; current and potential competitors, customers, market, economic and financial trends
  • Develop dashboards with data visualizations of data points to show relevant and important insights
  • Manage the analysis of data to ensure that the Market Intelligence team are providing the right analysis
  • Provide market insights through presentations and reports to the Energy Market Analytics Director and various internal teams to allow effective strategic and tactical decision-making and implementation
  • Develop periodic and ad-hoc analysis and reports in coordination with other stakeholders to support the decision-making process of Energy management
  • Collaborate internally to ensure intelligence is shared with appropriate groups and individuals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to identify emerging needs and market challenges
  • Organize and supervise the work of the assigned team to ensure that all work within a specific area of the activity is carried out in an efficient manner, which is consistent with operating procedures and policy
  • Provide guidance and on the job training for junior colleagues and conduct knowledge sharing to facilitate achievement of team objectives and completion of tasks in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Math, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Energy and Business Intelligence
  • Relevant Experience in Energy Modeling data collection and scenario development
  • Strong understanding of different reporting and dashboard tools (PowerBI)
  • Experience in Energy Modeling data collection and scenario development
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across the organization
  • Excellent skills in database management such as Access, SQL Studio
  • Excellent MS computer software skills (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint)
