Wood is currently seeking to recruit a competent Project Engineer to join the Turkish Petroleum Sakarya IPMT project team. The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in the management of EPC contractors during detailed engineering of a large offshore gas gathering / pipeline / onshore gas plant in Turkey with first phase at 350MMSCFD expanding to 1.4BSCFD export gas.


  • Assist to plan, execute, monitor, report and coordinate the design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and close-out phases of the Project
  • Assist to develop, maintain and implement the Project Management and Execution Plans, including the HSSE and QA / QC Plans, in accordance with Wood systems and procedures
  • Assist to control, monitor, report and coordinate communications with PMC, Company and EPC Contractors to ensure the Project is executed in accordance with overall objectives and commitments
  • Assist with the effective management, control, monitoring and reporting of suppliers and subcontractors, including the coordination between suppliers / contractors and the technical, document control, cost, schedule, expediting, inspection / QC, project services and commercial interfaces
  • Assist with the development and review of Project documentation, including Project specifications, drawings, scopes of work, vendor documentation, supplier / contract tender, award and administration packages, estimates, schedules, reports, studies, plans, procedures and the like
  • Provide leadership and direction to the specific Work Package in order to fulfill contractual commitments, and satisfy Company and Wood requirements, in accordance with the Project Management and Execution plans
  • Assist in identifying and managing change throughout all Project elements
  • Identify and manage Project risks (opportunities and threats)
  • Assist in coordinating cross-disciplinary input to engineering deliverables, including P&IDs, location plans, construction work packages, requisitions and electrical single line diagrams
  • Assist in monitoring discipline progress and performance with the Discipline Leads and assist in developing action plans, when required
  • Inform the Project Manager of difficulties encountered and issues that arise
  • Assist in interfacing and coordinating with Company
  • Comply with all Wood policies and procedures

Skills / Qualifications

  • Basic qualification: BSc Engineering
  • Experience in similar position
  • Track record: Experience in PMC organisations in project management in refinery / petrochemical industries in handling project work of major projects of value not less than US$500 million each

Desirable skills:

  • Personality and drive to support the Project Manager to manage the PMC Package team to achieve the overall Project objectives, with high professional competence and management skills
  • Exposure to wide variety of project environments
  • Exposure to wide variety of design, engineering, project services, procurement and construction elements
