We have an established team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals growing our business activities by developing, constructing, and operating our renewable generation portfolio throughout the region. 

Purpose: To take the lead on project site acquisition relevant matters including liaising with landowners, brokers, and local authorities etc. in Malaysia, reporting to Head of Solar Development, SEA.
 
The position will be based in our office in Putrajaya, Malaysia to support our solar project development team. Travelling is required within Malaysia and occasionally internationally.
 

What You Will Do

  • Focus on Malaysia greenfield projects development. To take the lead on project site acquisition relevant matters including liaising with landowners, brokers, and local authorities etc. 
  • Conduct initial market analysis. Monitor and assess renewable energy policy in Malaysia, gather market information and provide overview to the team
  • Manage and keep track of project pipeline and developers’ database for Malaysia
  • Prepare and manage Request for Investment documentation and process
  • Preparation and submission of tender documents
  • Conduct due diligence for the acquisition of renewable energy projects (legal, commercial, tax & technical), travelling might be required in the region. Extended stay in the regional markets might be required during critical project phase, as and when necessary
  • Develop projects from greenfield to ready to build, including obtaining all necessary permits for the construction of the projects
  • Ensure plans and project documents are complete
  • Produce and revise master schedules using MS Project
  • Work closely with engineering and operations team to manage development processes from development through execution and into the sales process


What You Bring

  • BS degree in Engineering, Business or Economics or related discipline required. MBA desirable.
  • An experienced renewable energy professional with at least 5 years track record of renewable energy development activities (or similar) in Malaysia
  • Strong network with EPC’s and developers, experience structuring JVA’s a plus
  • Relevant experience analyzing sites for solar PV project development and managing these projects from development to execution
  • Experience with BESS (storage) would be an advantage
  • Good understanding of the local energy policies and dynamics in the energy market and key players in Malaysia
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English (both verbal and written), other ASEAN languages a distinct advantage.
