SUMMARY  OF  ROLE:

Undertakes the FEED, system design, implementation, factory acceptance test (FAT) phases and the site acceptance test (SAT) phases of projects. 

As member of the Project Management team on a Project he is responsible for managing the delivery of a portfolio of project related engineering deliverables, utilizing the Emerson Process Management global resources and standards; each deliverable having a requisite quality standard, budget and schedule. Coordinate in detail the project team.

The MES Lead Engineer shall fully support the overall business growth objectives by utilizing their skills and experience to support the sales and proposals team in the pursuit of new business opportunities.

The MES Lead Engineer supports the PM in all aspects of a MES project. E.g.  overall design and engineering of project specific Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and system integration solutions like LIMS or ERP to clients, primarily in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, to enhance cutting edge process automation solutions meeting customer requirements.

PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer Relations – supports Lead Engineers in understanding, managing and achieving each customer’s expectations
  • Project Execution – takes ownership of the engineering activities on all allocated tasks and proactively utilise methodologies, resources and techniques for minimising the execution cost, whilst maintaining the requisite schedule and quality standard
  • Project Management – provides PM with all necessary support and information to ensure that they are fully informed of resource requirements, progress and areas of risk for the allocated tasks
  • Scope control – fully understands the scope of work within their portfolio, ensures that it is delivered to the requisite quality, budget and schedule and that the relevant. PM is fully informed, at the earliest opportunity, of any customer initiated changes in scope
  • HSE/Quality control – ensures that all engineering activities are undertaken in accordance with the Company’s quality control processes and that the relevant standard is achieved – adheres to company’s and customer HSEQ standards at all times
  • Technical knowledge – acquires, maintains and actively shares knowledge and experience with the engineering team and the wider organisation
  • Team building – facilitates creation of an inclusive and supportive environment for all personnel within the project team to ensure high performance on the project and actively support team members in achieving any personal development objectives shared that may have been set for the project
  • Other Duties – Performs other additional specific duties, when requested by the business 



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Completed recognized apprenticeship and an additional recognized one-year vocational training, Engineering degree, state-certified technician
  • 5 years of relevant industry experience working in system design, implementation and factory acceptance test phases of projects (process automation, systems and instrumentation)
  • Good knowledge and solid experience with MES systems (e.g. Syncade, Rockwell ProPack Data, Werum PAS-X, POMSnet).
  • Computer literate (MS Office) with software programming skills
  • Local language skills with proficient English (verbal and written)
  • Willingness to travel with European focus mainly for shorter periods (up to 50%)
  • Valid driving license
