About this role:

Our client is the leading entrepreneurial company tackling food waste challenges through partnering with corporations and using streams of organic waste and processing it through an organics facility to provide value added agricultural products. They are headquartered in MA, funded by institutional capital partners and currently, have a billion dollars’ worth of projects in the pipeline across the United States.

Currently searching for a Chemist to join a startup team focusing on organics recycling facility partnerships. This individual will have a strong background in chemistry and/or biology and be knowledgeable with analysis of organic and inorganic compounds. The ideal candidate will have a naturally curious mindset and be solutions-driven as well as detail-oriented.

This role is located in Boston area, but for the right candidate remote-work is also an option. Travel requirement is up to 50%.



What you need to bring:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be able to work with food and waste samples as well we relevant data to analyze results and make recommendations on whether it can be used as viable fuel source
  • Be knowledgeable of O&G, food production or Biogas space is a plus
  • Advise optimization of co-digestion process from a chemical standpoint as well as do assessments of materials, quantities, and quantity gas production, affluent production, etc at food manufacturing facilities
  • Be able to build statistical models for organics production through the facility
  • Have a curious, driven and entrepreneurial nature to be able to learn and grow on the jobs
  • Be able to support and advise performance tests and other procedures on compounds to discern their nature as well as design suitable procedures to employ and create reports on results.
  • Be able to continuously look for ways to improve procedures to deliver accurate results
  • Be NRCC or CPC certified is a plus
  • BSc in Chemistry or Biology with 0- 3 years of work experience in Analytical Chemistry experience working with Organic or Inorganic materials and, MSc/PhD degree in chemistry or biochemistry field is a plus
