SunPower is seeking a Project Program Manager to develop the operational program & strategy for large scale solar service programs. This role will maximize efficiency in the implementation of detailed project plans, keeping track of goals, tasks, resources, schedules, costs, and contingencies. They are responsible for the quality of work, and for keeping all projects on time and on budget. Ensures compliance with SunPower terms, technical specifications, quality, safety standards, and SunPower internal processes.

The Project Program Manager uses data to drive improvements in cycle time safety, quality, and capacity for SunPower warranty programs. The Project Program Manager reports to the Director, Partner Operations and will be responsible for completing projects in a manner that exceeds our customers’ expectations and delivers every project as projected, while ensuring that our subcontractors work adheres to all company safety policies and OSHA-mandated requirements. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Creates and manages project’s budget
  • Knows and understands the requirements including, development of contract requirements, schedules, and costs.
  • Develops, and completes, regular projected final cost reports projections.
  • Procure subcontractors, based on pre-determined requirements, to manage through completion of construction.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to prepare, review and monitor information and reports related to all information involved in developing the scope for each project.
  • Manage sub-contractor relationship, which includes, but not limited to, initial scope and proposal review, developing final proposal based upon agreed scope of work.
  • Collaborate with developer, subcontractors, municipal entity, supply chain, and site-specific construction suppliers to develop a timeline for delivery and completion of milestones.
  • Weekly reporting of business activity and metrics 
  • Ensure closed loop learning on quality observations
  • Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Responsible for project administration and daily operations. Prepares and maintains the project schedule, milestone dates, commissioning, and close-out checklists.
  • Establishes relationships and communication tools, as needed, with suppliers and other key people to verify all materials, supplies, tools equipment and personnel are obtained and/ or delivered when necessary.

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements 

  • Educational (Bachelor degree or 4 years of experience. Master’s degree or 6 years of experience). Use following language: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
  • Minimum of 5 Project Management experience in the renewable energy industry
  • Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of electrical theory, National Electric Code, & California Building and Electrical Codes.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, business intelligence platforms
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Project

Preferred requirements

  • Educational (Bachelor degree or 4 years of experience. Master’s degree or 6 years of experience). The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
  • Experience (5 years in the solar or construction industry)
  • Direct experience working with electrical and roofing subcontractors
  • Strong understanding of NEC codes with emphasis on residential PV installations
  • Strong technical, supervisory, and project management skills based on industry experience
  • Knowledge of Tableau

  • Can be based in CA, Austin TX, other
  • Up to 25% of travel required
