Main Duties : Brevan Global Resources are currently looking for a Civil / Structural Safety Engineer to work for our client on a rail project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
We are looking for a candidate to start in January 2016 and work on a residential basis, our client will offer a full expat package with family status.
The role of Civil/structural/infrastructure Safety Engineer is to undertake rail related civil engineering and design assessment and analysis to provide assurance that infrastructure under review are acceptably safe and / or available for rail operational service
The role therefore requires knowledge and experience of all rail related civil engineering aspects of railways coupled with well-developed assessment and analysis skills.
The Engineer will be responsible for (not limited to):
1) Assurance Audits and Assessments such as:
•Independent Competent Person Audit / Assessment.
•Independent Safety Assessment.
•Independent Verification and Validation.
2) Detailed assessment and analysis:
•Undertaking technical design reviews
•Undertaking and checking of HAZOP and HAZID studies.
•Undertaking Qualitative and Quantitative risk assessment.
•Implementation and checking of detailed analysis including:
b. Root Cause Analysis.
c. Reliability assessment.
d. Structural integrity assessment.
3) Operational Safety Analysis
•Assessment of operational safety across technical and operational process aspects.
•Development and review of operational plans and procedures for safety operations.
•Assessment and audit of operational compliance.
4) Incident Management Planning and Investigation such as:
•Emergency and Crisis management process development and review.
•Incident management procedure development and review.
Internally this role will interface directly with the Team Leader/Project Manager.
Externally this role will interface with clients (in the form of Rail Operators, Contractors, rail system providers, project development agencies) and rail regulators (who may also be clients).
The role requires a broad range of experience across railway operations and projects.
A minimum 5 years rail experience is required.
A minimum 5 years civil design experience is required.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge across all rail engineering aspects and operations with specialist in at least one key area such as:
A strong level of academic and professional qualification is preferred:
•Appropriate engineering degree in Civil & Structural (or equivalent) (2:2 minimum).
•Chartered Engineer or equivalent or working towards.
•Knowledge in rail civil engineering standards.
•SAR Monthly Salary = 30,000 ($8000)
•SAR Monthly Housing Allowance = 10,000 ($2700)
•SAR Monthly Vehicle Allowance = 1,900 ($500)
•1 * return flight (Economy Class) to point of origin a year for Self and wife and up to 2 dependent children (to age 17).
•Medical Insurance (Self, wife and dependent children (to age 17)).
•Leave 30 days per year + public holidays.
•Annual Salary review.
•Deployment expenses of flights (Self, wife, dependent children (to age 17)). Household shipment to a max of a single TEU (sea freight), visas (Self, wife, dependent children (to age 17) employment permit (Self).
