LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
Primary purpose of job
Working with a team of Professional Development Advisors (PDA's) and the Project Management Job Family Group to support the development of the company HSSE departments. Also working with the Professional Development project team to share lessons learned and ensure the roll out of the Job Families across the company.
To support Job Family Group Council (JFGC) and the Job Family Owner (JFO) to develop and execute Job Family annual plans and embed professional development processes in furtherance of the company strategic goals.
To coordinate the development and review of Competency definitions and profiles to ensure alignment and consistency while reducing overlaps across the Job Family Group.
Provide a hands-on training in regards to Risk Assessment and HSSE Management across areas of the company.
To drive the creation and maintenance of the Job Family development curriculum in liaison with the companies departments and their respective leaders and subject matter experts to ensure Job Family documentation is kept fit for purpose and up-to-date.
To create the required tool-kits, materials and events that support the company goal of Competency Assessment to improve understanding and application to the wider workforce.
To create the required guidelines and frameworks to guide staff in creating Personal Development Plans (PDP's) and their adoption into the Competency Assessment process.
To aid in the identification of career development opportunities such as on-the-job-learning and self study activities that are relevant to the Job Family.
To review Competency Development Plans for quality assurance and input to the assessment of needs and providing ongoing support.
The PDA should be a senior and seasoned business line professional that is ready to perform a staff role. They will support business managers to support the development of staffs competency, capabilities and effectiveness. They should have a strong ability to communicate and build working relationships with various tiers of the companies staff; including managers, supervisors and engineers.
Experience & Skills
15 years of employment experience, 10 years of which should be in an Energy/Oil and Gas industrial organization.
Exposed to HSSE training delivery and the creation, development and oversight of Risk Register activities.
Well developed personal effectiveness skills especially in communication, facilitation, team work, relationship management.
Sufficient personal competence and credibility to advise and influence with representatives from other areas of the business.
Self motivated and able to organize self to work in a matrix organization with multiple interfaces.
Able to encourage and teach others to set development goals and objectives and provide guidance on implementing action plans.
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Health Safety and Environmental/Engineering/Business or similar discipline.
