The Senior Machine Learning Engineer is a critical member of the data organization and is responsible for productionizing the models developed across the company.  This role requires a solid understanding of ML/AI algorithms and their integration with various software & tools across the company. They are instrumental in delivering data products to the customer and will work collaboratively with the Data & Analytics team, IT, and our business customer. 

What You Will Do:

• Partner with product owners, data scientists, and data engineers to productionize AI/ML models.
• Develop and maintain enterprise machine learning operations standards and procedures.
• Develop and implement machine learning infrastructure in partnership with IT.
• Develop automation tools to enable machine learning and AI models.
• Monitor deployed models throughout the enterprise for drift/degradation.
• Provide cost and computing needs forecasting for deployed models and projections for cost and computing needs for new projects.
• Provide strategic support to the data team on new project ideation to help achieve successfully deployed valid models at the conclusion of the projects.
• Partner with data engineering to build and automate sustainable data pipelines.
• Partner with data science and data engineering to develop continuous improvement / continuous deployment processes and procedures.  

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

• Degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant technical field with relevant experience required.
• Master’s Degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant technical field with relevant experience preferred.
• Typically, at least 5-8 years of experience in data science, machine learning engineering, or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge and experience in the Azure Cloud Suite such as Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, ML Studio, etc.
• Experience in working as a part of a multifaceted and cross-functional team
• Experience in Python
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience working with Linux
• Experience with project management processes like Waterfall, Agile, or Scrum
• Familiarity with machine learning training/testing processes, algorithms, and corresponding python libraries  
• Familiarity with ML platforms like Dataiku
• Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the ABS Employee Safety Policy.

• Customer Data Platform Specialty experience
• Azure Data Fundamentals experience
• Azure AI Fundamentals experience
• Azure Data Engineer Associate

• Azure AI Engineer Associate

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to the Director of Analytics Innovation and has no direct reports.
