Maintenance Planner, Hot Rolling
Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Planner at our Burns Harbor, Indiana operation. The Maintenance Planner s responsible for the coordination of unit outages, work done on unit down days, as well as supervising maintenance crews.
Summary of Responsibilities:

• Coordinates all planned maintenance and capital projects during outages for each department
• Collaborates across multiple groups and departments as necessary to resolve operational and outage planning issues.
• Looks for opportunities to combine outages to optimize system availability, reliability, safety and economy
• Develops, maintains and presents outage management data analysist tools and key performance indicators.
• Leads the annual review and improvement of outage management roles and responsibilities.
• Leads the development of tools to increase the efficiency of outage planning, scheduling, reporting and data entry.
• Participates in emergency response efforts as needed
• Understands that safety is the number priority and runs an outage safely

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Engineering from an accredited educational institution or work-related experience equivalent
• Excellent analytical skills, troubleshooting and strategic thinking
• Possess strong attention to detail
• Be reasonably proficient in Microsoft Office Projects or similar scheduling systems

Preferred Requirements 

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in Engineering or Operations Planning
• Steel mill experience is preferred. 
• 3 years experience in project or outage planning.
