The Senior/Principal Risk Assessor Professional will provide services to the Decommissioning andRestoration, Risk Assessment Practice. The successful candidate will have atleast 10 years of experience in environmental management of contaminated sites,and strong interpersonal, management and leadership skills. The successfulcandidate will be organized, detail oriented and good at multi-tasking tosupport the successful completion of a variety of different work assignments.The ideal candidate must have experience with complex spreadsheets, mathematicsand statistical analysis, data management and report writing. The idealcandidate
 must also have a range of experience in
human health and/orecological risk assessment, be well versed in project management and must beable to provide direction to junior and intermediate staff. The candidate mustbe willing to support field programs when necessary. Experience in toxicology,permitting and valid safety training relevant to the area would be a benefit.This is a full-time role with opportunity to work out of several Advisianoffices across North America depending on your location. As our ideal candidatefor this dynamic and challenging role, your responsibilities will consist ofthe following tasks:


Responsibilitiesand Key Accountabilities

  • Provide management support for small to large andsimple to complex environmental projects;
  • Maintain client relationships using good managementpractices;
  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of localregulations. Knowledge of the regulatory framework in other jurisdictions isalso considered an asset;
  • Participate in business development initiatives togrow our business;
  • Complete work assignments on time and on budget;
  • Effectively manage changes to work tasks;
  • Conduct project reviews, as needed;
  • Provide technical project support, as needed; and
  • Provide mentorship, direction and skill assignments tojunior staff.


Experience and Qualifications:
  • Must have a range of experience with Human Health Risk Assessment and Ecological Risk Assessment (HHERA)
  • Arelevant university degree in environmental engineering, chemistry, biology,geology or some other science / engineering-based degree. Preference will be given to candidates with a graduate degree althoughthis is not necessary.
  • At least 10 years of consulting experience incontaminated sites, working for a range of clients.
  • Professional registration is an asset but is notrequired.
  • Strong technical background in one or more of thefollowing areas: environmental sciences / engineering, earth sciences,chemistry, geology / hydrogeology, agrology, biology.
  • Experience managing complex environmental issues.
  • Skills in developing innovative technical solutions.
  • Sound business performance.
  • Familiarity with local regulations.
  • Willingness to mentor less experienced staff.
  • Computer skills.
  • Experience with human health and/or ecological riskassessment.
  • Experience with statistical evaluation andmathematics, data management and reporting.
  • Experience with regulatory permitting, remediation /reclamation technologies and current HSE certifications are an asset but notnecessary.
  • Strong interpersonal, management and leadershipskills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with strong writtenand verbal skills.
  • Ability to support business development, clientmanagement, project management and project review.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-taskedenvironment.
