The Green Recruitment Company are working alongside one of the leading renewable energy businesses with their expansion plans. The business operates in development, design, building and management of power production plans that include wind, solar, waste to energy and biomass. They are a pure play business in the European market with global expansion plans in place.
Daily remote monitoring (24x7x365 basis) activity of the wind farm, its performance and operation: individual and aggregated productions, wind speeds at WTG and met mast, among other relevant metrics and elements (This would be via a web based portal)
Identification of opportunities to improve the wind farm performance by analyzing operational data and trends, minimizing turbine down time and other incidences
Analysis of alarms, incidences and occurrences at the wind farm
Performing remote operations, to the extent those are possible
Primary communications interface with site operating staff, utilities, and independent system operators (where applicable)
Responding to events and activate necessary measures and actions that can involve external intervention from the O&M provider
Performance of grid operator commands including active curtailments and power factor adjustments
Main point of contact between the grid operator and the wind farm
Performance of the plant trips remotely when required in light of a H&S or major fault event.
Monitoring of the O&M providers activities and making sure they are complying with their respective O&M Agreements, and general guidelines required by law or any applicable manufacturer, in accordance with the standards of a reasonable and prudent operator, as contemplated in the O&M Agreements
Diligent communication to the O&M providers of any incidence related with their work and/or the performance of the wind farm and follow up of their effective response
Monitor and report the different O&M works and interventions and follow up of those to make sure they meet the necessary quality levels and best practices, and also are in line the O&M agreements
Verification of the compliance of all the warranties defined in the O&M contracts, namely the availability warranty, and, if applicable, process and manage possible claims, that could be in the form of liquidated damages
Conduct regular meetings/calls with the O&M providers to review progress, aspects related with turbines or other elements and general performance of the O&M works
Review the O&M provider reports (production, performance ratios, availability of WTGs, etc.) and, if applicable, challenge its content
Control and review the implementation of the WTG operator quality assurance plans, procedures, inspection, tests and check sheets
Working with the WTG and eBOP O&M companies to ensure that the scheduled maintenance interventions are performed during low wind periods.
Validation of the preventive O&M plan on an annual basis, based on O&M contract requirements, technology and site specificities and best industry practices
Periodic site visits
Execute physical visits and inspections on site, to analyze the general situation of the turbines and other wind farm elements (roads, foundations, buildings, personnel on site, etc.) and its compliance with the project and O&M agreements
These visits should also cover the analysis of ongoing or already performed O&M interventions
In case of incidents or major performance problems, a site visit should be performed to assess the problem and work on mitigation plans
