We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Production Clerk within our Taft Plant located in Hahnville, LA.

  • This position is responsible for coordinating and processing activities consistent with Corporate Policy and Budget Plans
  • Provide secretarial and clerical support for the Cogen Manager & Staff (Scheduling meetings & coordinating lunches etc.)
  • Daily reconciliation of Cogen power production & posting to SAP
  • Daily reporting of Cogen production to various departments and sites.
  • Create Monthly Sales Order for Merchant (OPSI) Sales
  • Posting of Monthly C/A Power & Steam usage
  • Reporting of Monthly DOE (Dept of Energy) Data to Corporate
  • Create invoice for Monthly Sales for OPSI
  • Reconcile previous months sales & provide documents to various departments
  • Interact with Entergy as needed to address metering and billing issues.
  • Annual DOE Reporting for Cogeneration to Corporate
  • Update and maintain Cogen Procedure changes
  • Update and maintain GE TIL documentation
  • Maintain Vacation Schedules and Records for Cogen & Maintenance Supervisors and enter into PeopleSoft
  • Maintain Cogen Electronic Equipment Manuals
  • Coordinate Approval & Process Monthly Gas Invoices for Wire Payment
  • Post Monthly Gas Consumption in SAP
  • Coordinate approval and processing of GE Quarterly Invoices
  • Maintain records for Procurement Card Users and  Monthly Activity Reports
  • Maintain records for Taft American Express Applications
  • Reconcile Monthly Miscoded Cell Parts (SAP Cost Report / SAP Journal Voucher Entries)
  • Verify Postings for Check Remits
  • Maintain office and coffee supplies for Administration Building and Cogen.
  • Submit XMS for Cogen operators Safety Shoes etc.
  • Maintain NERC Reliability Standards Process Manual
  • Maintain Taft Cogeneration Agreements (Contracts etc.) Manual
  • Responsible for posting and distributing all incoming, interoffice and outgoing mail, maintaining postage machine and replenishment of postage meter account.
  • Assist Admin Coordinator with company sponsored activities and events.
  • Maintain Cogen bulletin board postings.
  • Create purchase order for raw material shipment of membrane caustic for Cogen when necessary and receive in SAP.
  • Create quarterly SAP listings of “Self-Approved” Requisitions over %241,000 for each applicable manager for approval and submit documentation to Controller.
  • For SOX audit, verify and document pipeline meter preventative maintenance work orders and submit to Controller.
  • Participates and accepts responsibility for meeting plant and individual PSM goals and monthly spreadsheet responsibilities as required by HESP-610 Procedure.
  • Actively participates in plant’s Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security (HESS) programs to assure a safe and environmentally sound workplace.
  • Assumes accountability for meeting plant safety goals and various other requirements including training, work permits, critical items inspections, job observations, housekeeping, reporting hazards and issues, and working safely in job assignments.
  • Actively participates in safety meetings and various other HESS programs while promoting safety through offering recommendations to other employees on working safely.
  • Supports and fulfills the requirements of the plant’s ISO Quality System.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Good skills with PC’s including email and Windows applications, SAP, SAT, PeopleSoft, Oxy Expense, Fax, Xerox, and general filing systems. Problem solving discrepancies in TPS, SAT, and PHD and special project assignments
  • Must have excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and exercise initiative and judgment to make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
  • Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays.
  • Physical requirements – must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, walking, bending, stooping is required.  Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator.  Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
