Warranty Co-ordinator (31248)

Wartsila Defence Solutions Ltd in Havant is currently looking to recruit a warranty support position reporting to the Warranty manager. This role will support with customer claims whilst maintaining customer satisfaction and improving WDSL through Corrective Action Reports and investigations.

As well as possessing great organisation and communication skills, the successful candidate will have strong commercial acumen and a healthy scepticism, in order to help keep the resulting costs to the minimum.

They will also need to assist the warranty manager in being able to influence and manage the various stakeholders and routes to market within our complex organization.

What will I be doing daily?

The main responsibilities of this function are supporting with warranty claims relating to WDSL products and services, including (but not limited to):

  • Managing the warranty process, including investigation, root-case analysis and corrective actions
  • Create notifications in SAP and assigning tasks to departments within the business
  • Acting as main contact for customers, both internal and external
  • Influencing & liaising with staff from multiple departments without formal reporting lines
  • Reporting on the current status of all cases
  • Controlling (minimising) the financial impact to WDSL
  • Manage and expedite tasks assigned throughout the business.
  • Create return and FOC orders in SAP
  • Create purchase requisitions in SAP
  • Obtain FOC approvals in accordance with the process
  • Maintain records and information to support the warranty process
  • Protecting the Wartsila brand and reputation

What will I need to be successful?

The candidate should have experience with warranty and claim handling processes with suitable academic qualifications, coupled with practical training and experience.

You should be Computer literate with good experience using Microsoft office tools and MRP (Manufacturing, Resource, Planning) system knowledge.

Experience and Competencies

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience gained in a warranty related role.
  • You should have a good understanding and gained experience in warranty/claim handling processes and customer service. This experience should include direct dealings with customers and participation in meetings with customers and internal support departments.
  • Practical knowledge working with MRP systems (SAP)
  • Additionally, a background in an engineering or manufacturing business would be advantageous.

Note due to the military applications our products support, any applicant must be able to satisfy the requirements of a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) as a minimum clearance requirement of this role
