Job Description and Qualifications

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking an experienced Machinery Specialist for its Americas Operations Central Engineering group. This position will be responsible for providing machinery support to operating plants in the North and South America regions and will report to the Americas Operations Machinery Engineering manager.

Core Responsibilities:
Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and optimization of machinery.
Mechanical equipment includes centrifugal, reciprocating and screw compressors, steam turbines, expanders, blowers, gearboxes, cooling towers, fin-fans and all types of pumps including cryogenic pumps.
Develop work scopes for equipment repair and overhaul. Prepare and provide technical reports after work is completed. Enter information into CMMS system (SAP) to provide accurate documentation on equipment.
Initiate and implement reliability and/or standard processes on operating machinery.
Provide technical on-site and remote training and guidance to individual plant operating and maintenance personnel, facilitating their role as the primary equipment maintenance support.
Drive the execution of preventive/predictive and corrective maintenance tasks.
Develop worn component refurbishment procedures and follow through on repairs and spare parts replacements.

Qualifications / Requirements:
Demonstrated safe work skills.
Minimum of 5 years direct experience in maintenance, start-up, and commissioning of industrial rotating machinery and plant equipment.
High School diploma
Practical knowledge of machinery overhauls and refurbishment.
Familiar with machinery vibration diagnostics skills and machinery troubleshooting skills.
Well versed with root cause analysis techniques.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound decisions required.
Strong organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills are crucial.
Travel to sites throughout region is required
