About the Opportunity
Jacobs is committed to playing a leadership role in Global Energy Transition. Our UK and Continental Europe team is growing and we’re looking for Carbon Management Consultants at all levels to help position Jacobs for success.
Our Carbon and Energy team advises clients on the challenges and opportunities regarding climate change and sustainability issues including: carbon accounting, policy and regulatory support; net zero carbon strategic roadmaps; carbon neutrality; decentralised, decarbonised generation and energy transition; and the circular economy.
As part of our diverse and passionate team, you’ll provide support to our large portfolio of public and private sector clients covering carbon footprinting; climate action plans and strategies; science based targets; net zero road maps; regulatory and policy support; renewable and low carbon energy generation.
In the role you will be responsible for delivering projects and workstreams, providing advice and innovative approaches relating to climate change and sustainability. There is plenty of opportunity to get involved in project management, technical leadership, business case development, scoping commercial propositions and client relationship management.
Work-life balance and flexibility is a key focus area for Jacobs. Our core design team is based across Jacobs’ offices in London, Birmingham, Reading, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow or Exeter. However, with offices throughout the UK, we can be flexible about location and are happy to discuss hybrid, part-time and flexible working hours to suit you and our business.

- A degree in an environmental, mathematics, science or engineering discipline
- A good understanding across a range of sustainability issues and services coupled with the knowledge and technical ability to assess and advise on carbon management
- Experience in delivering carbon related projects and delivering outputs from carbon models and inventories
- Strong data validation and analysis skills including a high level of competency in Excel
- Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of different strategies employed to tackle greenhouse gas emissions
- Understand the challenges and opportunities change presents to organisations across strategic planning, operations, marketing, and accounting and finance
- Good communication skills and flair for engaging with colleagues and clients alike
