Join the Engineering Process, Hydrogen and Storage Design Unit team to support us in enabling the energy transition towards a zero carbon power sector through energy storage and green hydrogen generation!

We are looking for a Senior BESS and Hydrogen Process Engineer.

 

What you will do:

To develop the engineering process activities related to complex mechanical, chemical or storage plant, including feasibility studies and to perform plant layout optimization. In case of outsourcing activities, he reviews and coordinates their execution.
to perform mass/energy/chemical balances, also through calculation tools in order to define the performance, mass and energy flux within the plant
To define plant process and develop process functional specifications for all the plant systems, preparing also relevant P&IDs.
To define project main machinery characteristics and functional design, elaborating data sheets, design conditions, piping design and related equipment, including piping class and requirements definition and main (materials, thickness, ANSI/ASME class, etc.) 
To review and validates the suppliers design documentation related to process and functional aspects and to the interfaces with other ENEL designed systems.
To provide technical support for third parties relationships, both suppliers and clients.
To prepare technical documents related to projects authorization and permitting process.
To provide technical support during commissioning and testing of designed plants.
To ensure know how and best practice development and sharing among the organization
To define and manage the technical content of chemical plant and machinery request for proposals and to review technical offers.
To perform or validate fire and explosion risk assessments, defining the requirements of relevant safety protection measures both passive (e.g. physical segregation, fire barriers, safety distances) and active  (fire detectors, firefighting plants), and to know the qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methodologies (HAZID, HAZOP, etc)

To develop independently functional specifications and technical documents for preliminary design and costs estimation.

 

 

Who you are:

Master’s Degree in mechanical, chemical or equivalent
5/7 yeras of experience in engineering company, Oil and gas or Power/ utilities are preferred
Knowledge of gas & fire detection and firefighting.
Knowledge of industrial plants and systems functional interface management
Knowledge of chemical systems for gas treatment, water treatment (raw and waste), including experience in sizing and design criteria definition of main equipment
Knowledge of the main technical normative and international standards to be applicable to industrial systems (ANSI, ASME, Direttive Europee, ecc.) and for the firefighting system and components.(European directive - EN - and international directive - NFPA, etc.);
Knowledge of the application software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint  etc.).
