Eaton Research Labs (ERL) is currently seeking a Lead Automation Engineer to join our team in Southfield MI. Relocation assistance will be provided if needed. Position Overview: The lead automation engineer will work on product design and software automation projects end to end from project planning to implementation. The role is responsible for development of integration plugins to automate modeling and process simulation tools and script writing for data analysis using machine learning algorithms. As a member of a multidisciplinary project team working to improve software automation capabilities, the lead Automation engineer will provide technical leadership in the design, development, programming, verification, and delivery of software automation systems for product design automation. The lead automation engineer will play a crucial role in providing innovative, scalable solutions that solve problems, driving collaboration and integration between multiple partners, and working alongside internal and external partner teams to deliver solutions. In this role you will: Design and develop automation scripts to support optimization and automating of design and simulation workflows Create APIs, develop and maintain in house automation and debug automation issues Data collection, preparation and database generation, code development and writing scripts for machine learning algorithms Surrogate modeling for engineering methods Lead high quality delivery of a variety of technical engagements enabling breakthrough business outcomes for customers Work alongside and lead internal and external partner teams to deliver solutions When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Master’s degree in engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution 2+ years of experience in programming, data analytics, machine learning, modeling and simulation Strong computer and math skills Experience with mechanical and electromechanical engineering design, modeling and simulation tools Data analytics and machine learning experience Experience with tools such as Python, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Matlab Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. Preferred Qualifications PhD preferred in an engineering discipline or computer science Position Criteria Self-motivated and goal-oriented individual.
