Job Title: Specialist Transportation

Reports To: Manager Logistics, Supply Chain-HAM

 

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Project Logistics Manager, located in Hamriyah, UAE, the Transportation Specialist provides coordination and selection of international logistics and transportation services for global products and materials according to company procedures and regulatory requirements. Ensures the efficient and timely transport of international and domestically shipped products. Maintains an excellent knowledge of import/export rules, regulations and processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Proactive coordination for all global transportation functions and customized alignment to meet internal and external stakeholder requirements.
  • Coordinate with management and global vendors for successful planning and execution from order/item ready date to destination delivery date.
  • Coordinate, prepare and validate import / export documentation per customer, customs and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor, track all Forwarding, Customs, 3PL, milestones, cost and performance.
  • Ensure project Budget and Key Performance Indicators are met.
  • Provide accurate weekly/monthly reports for project forecast, budget and performance management.

•       Ensure all QHSE principles and recommendations are followed when transporting & handling materials.

•       Work with subcontractors to define the scope of mobilization and demobilization and all other logistics related activities

  • Problem solve and create global solutions to meet customer expectations.

•       Consistently follow and develop local transportation Policies, Procedures in line with Corporate Guidelines.

  • Utilize TMS tools to prepare/respond to requests for quotes/information
  • Oversee 3p/l Freight Bill Audit Pay Process
  • Work with Corporate Trade Control to ensure alignment on Trade Control practices/procedures and audits
  • Ensure Free Zone admissions/removals are done in compliance with local regulations
  • Provide guidance on import/export regulation
  • Maintain an excellent working relationship with Exterran internal departments, clients, agents and carriers.
  • Requires employee to constantly, type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in logistics, operations or finance/accounting.
  • Master’s Degree in supply chain management.

 

Required Experience & Skills

  • Five to seven years of supply chain industry experience with knowledge of domestic and international freight coordination and movement.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient negotiation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize work
  • Ability to work flexible hours when required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Breakbulk/OOG cargo management
  • Advanced working knowledge of transportation to remote site locations.
  • Advanced working knowledge of shipment processing and government regulations
  • Advanced working knowledge of documentary letter of credits.
  • Team-oriented leader, change agent, highly organized, self-starter.
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to prepare reports and presentations as per management requirements.
  • Oracle experience / Other ERP systems
  • Strong system skills and experience improving business processes
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions related to shipment processing and profit & loss management

 

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Oil & Gas Project Management preferred
  • Working with global and remote employee preferred

 

Preferred Training & Certifications

  • Hazmat Certification preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred
  • Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD), preferred

Physical Demands (Use all that apply – specify items in blue)

Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers, customers, vendors, suppliers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices

Must be able to occasionally lift at least 50# pounds

Requires port or site visits in outdoor conditions, including; extreme heat, non-air conditioned facility, sandstorms, sun exposure.

Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel-toed boots, as applicable.

Position requires travel 25% of the time, may include international travel as necessary.

Reports To: Senior Manager, Global Logistics & Transportation

 

Position Summary

Primary logistics leader for Pearl Petroleum Project.  Responsible for supporting the logistics program development and implementation, with accountability for logistics operational execution. Supervises daily international transportation activities, personnel, provides functional project alignment with internal/external teams and reporting efficacy for budget and on time performance. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversees day-to-day global logistics/transportation functions, including; international customs agents, brokers, freight forwarders, carriers and other 3rd party logistics services for the project.
  • Oversight and active processing of traffic and customs documentation for the physical movement of door to door (import/export) cargo.
  • Support internal/external logistics procedure development and implementation/onboarding of the transportation service providers.
  • Provide guidance on import/export regulation
  • Manage Project Logistics costs within budgeted expectations
  • Manage Project Logistics performance within project and compliance guidelines.
  • Problem solve and create global solutions to meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain an excellent working relationship with Exterran internal departments, clients, agents and carriers. Monitor the effectiveness of these relationships and develop programs/processes to improve them.
  • Lead International Transportation Interface with Project Management Teams
  • Oversee 3p/l Freight Bill Audit Pay Process
  • Responsible for assigned International Transportation Specialists ensuring KPI’s are met.
  • Respond to or oversee requests for quotes/information.
  • Oversee the negotiations with agents and vendors to obtain best in class pricing.
  • Work with Corporate Trade Control to ensure alignment on Trade Control practices/procedures and audits
