Job Summary

The UNITE Functional Team Lead – Asset Management will manage both Gas and Electric T&D asset and data related initiatives in preparation for UNITE major technology projects. This position will also oversee Asset Management-related business driven processes and initiatives to ensure alignment with the UNITE strategic direction. Following this preparatory phase, this position will lead the UNITE Asset Management functional team in design, development, testing, and implementation of the EAM project for both Gas and Electric, as well as the Risk Management project for Gas. The position will be responsible for the continued definition and development of business processes, procedures, and policies, in conjunction with various business SMEs, where this position will serve as the functional subject matter advisor for the UNITE team in the areas of asset compliance, maintenance, and performance; asset risk; operational support; and portfolio management. The position will serve as the liaison between end users of UGI’s legacy systems and information technology staff responsible for enhancements or development of the UNITE project solutions. In addition, daily interaction and working side-by-side project consultants will be required. 

**Position has flexibility to be based out of our Wyomissing or Wilkes Barre office.**

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work directly with UNITE Consultant Team Lead to manage functional teams through all phases of the project, work to control deliverable quality and manage team risk, along with managing the overall work product and deliverables. Throughout the UNITE project, provide a finalized product that incorporates industry best practices along with UGI requirements.
  • Working with business SMEs, provide business process specialized knowledge and guidance to UNITE functional teams. Identify and manage resolution to business process and design issues and serve as a subject matter advisor. Drive cross-team alignment for planning and coordination.
  • Advise and approve business process design and system configuration. Direct development of detailed teamwork and assist with the development and management of the project plan. Conduct sign-off of critical deliverables to help achieve a quality final product.
  • Work with other project teams (Functional, Technical, OCM) to provide required input for development and completion of cross-functional project deliverables. Ensure that other project teams are providing adequate support to the asset management functional deliverables, communicating openly across all project teams and SMEs. Attend and lead UNITE project meetings.
  • Perform other duties as required by project management.

  • Knowledge of UGI’s applicable legacy systems and associated processes to have a meaningful impact on the UNITE project (DOJM, SmallWorld, ESRI, Oracle ApEx, operations/engineering Web Apps, etc.)
  • Applied background and knowledge of UGI’s operations, engineering, GIS, and/or marketing organization(s), PUC regulations, compliance activities, processes, and system functionalities.
  • Background understanding of information technologies, particularly enterprise-wide system architecture and solution implementation approaches.
  • Self-directed and self-motivated to meet project deadlines.
  • The ability to think critically and envision future state processes.
  • Ability to clearly articulate and communicate complex ideas at various levels in the company to facilitate understanding and achieve buy-in.
  • Dedication to the success of both the individual as well as the team.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, data analytics, or technical sciences preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in natural gas and/or electric operations, design, federal & state regulations, or asset management.
  • Business Process or Lean training preferred.
  • Knowledge of 49 CFR 192 code, ISO 55000, ISO 31000, ISO 14224, and API RP 1173 preferred.
