The energy industry in China
China is the worlds 5th largest oil-producing country, with most of the production taking place in the northeast and north-central region and the country is home to a significant number of large scale projects and rugs, including the Wushi Oil Field, Haiyang Shiyou 981 and Ocean Oil 981. The China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) also built and operates the Kazakhstan–China oil pipeline, China's first direct oil import pipeline which allows oil imports from Central Asia. in addition to oil, China is the worlds largest producer of coal, gold, steel and rare earth metals and the industry is massively expanding year on year.
