As a Field Sales Engineer you will develop and manage defined target accounts in the South East / East Anglia, achieving and exceeding sales expectations.


You will succeed in this through building relationships within assigned accounts, improving customer face time whilst promoting solutions and products from across the Emerson Measurement Solutions instrumentation portfolio!

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL\:

 

  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of available market and business opportunities across the Measurement Solutions products and other product lines of Emerson Automation Solutions, across all types of customers within the agreed Sales Territory;

  • Identify new customers and actively engage with existing customers by promoting outstanding product features and deploying the best sales practices, accompanied by technical knowledge;

  • Effectively build and manage account relationships to become a trusted advisor and become their go to contact for instrumentation, understand their drivers and goals;

  • Increase the Emerson market share by a targeted competitor displacement across all product ranges and industry sectors;

  • Actively and efficiently use the available sales and support processes, including Solution Selling, Strategic Account Plans, Cluster Plans, Project Management, CRM, Sales negotiations and presentations;

  • Collaborate with Cluster leaders, project pursuit and key account teams to share knowledge across focus sites and ultimately increase the business volumes;

  • Continuously forecast the territory expectations and update the ongoing business planning tools including POR, Quarterly, Mid-Year and Yearly Budget Reviews;

  • Collaborate closely with internal and external sales teams in product and application knowledge sharing, planning and execution activities to continuously improve the customer service levels;

  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to better understand how to position Measurement Solutions portfolio optimally in the marketplace.



FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED\:

 

•       HNC and/or Degree level in Engineering discipline or equivalent;

•       Proven experience of operating within the Process Automation Industry is advantageous;

•       Background and experience in Sales and Engineering;

•       Proven track record of direct selling in a B2B environment as well as securing new business with existing customers;

•       Experience in developing long term relationships with external customers;

•       Ability to understand product applications within Emerson portfolio;

•       Presentation and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal;

•       Digital literacy, essential;

•       Ability to travel in order to fulfil duties of the role.
