This purpose of this role is to management and develop the Decommissioningand Restoration practice and will focus on managing the closure of terrestrialand offshore projects and their assets.  It is expected this role would be based onBrisbane or Perth depending on the applicant. However, the home-base location is open at this stage.

Responsibilities andKey Accountabilities:

Reporting to the Environment and Society APAC Managing Consultant, youwill initially be responsible for managing and building the Decommissioning andRestoration (D&R) practice by focusing on business development, peopleleadership, project execution, technical excellence, strategy and seller-doer sales. 

Additional key responsibilities include:

Business Developmentand Strategy

  • Accountable for developing and implementing a strategy into a sustainable practice with the global group. Includes working with global business leaders, other managing consultants, other parts of the business, and a wide range of contractors and subject matter experts (SMEs) to connect project closure capabilities inside and outside the business.
  • Work with Regional and Global Service Line Environment and Society Leaders to establish and meet revenue targets.
  • Manage seller-doers within the practice and/or across the Service Line  key/strategic projects, pursuits and proposals.
  • Nurture and build key client relationships that support the overall Advisian D&R strategy.
  • Provide leadership for the practice within the Service Line, with a secondary focus for all resources within the regional footprint.
  • Maintain, identify and hire key technical talent to support to delivery of projects within the practice.
  • Fosters and promotes networks of peers and SMEs supporting the practice and Service Line.
  • Foster collaboration across global D&R service lines, practices, and other service lines within Advisian and Worley.
  • Steer Performance Management expectations, engagement and requirements for direct reports and employees within the practice, including compliance with Global processes and frameworks.
  • Accountable for the development, training and mentorship of the technical staff including adherence with professional association regulations where applicable.
  • Provide OneWay leadership to deliver the vision of zero harm and ensure compliance with corporate management systems.
  • Provide integrity management and quality assurance for deliverables.
  • Responsible for management and development of practice and meeting agreed upon revenue targets contribution margin for the practice.
  • Responsible for overhead spending within the area of responsibility to ensure adequate control of budget.
  • Responsible for the effective utilisation of resources within the practice, where applicable.
  • Monitor and manage resources within the practice including employees, SMEs and contractor network.

  • Accountable for the profitable (meets as-sold) and successful delivery of projects within the capability centre, including invoicing, cash collection and use of best fit of capability for the client (i.e. Drive Key Account Management and provide project sponsorship, where needed).
  • Gather customer feedback, resolving customer concerns and ensuring project quality.
  • Ensure project and practice compliance to internal business processes such as the Enterprise Management System (EMS) and external technical standards.
  • Ensure quality control expectations are met for all deliverables.

Experienceand Qualifications

  • Relevant Science, Engineering, Business related degree or equivalent qualification, Bachelor and Master level.
  • Demonstrable experience in closure for a wide range of projects.
  • Has managed remote and multi-locational teams to deliver proposals, projects, strategy and targets.
  • Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining key industry, regulatory, and other external partnerships and relationships.
  • Experience working within a consulting or engineering-based business.
  • Previous experience with managing field-based teams and/or field experience preferred.
  • Significant senior level experience in a leadership engineering, environmental and/or consulting role.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with typical client issues, capabilities, and clusters related to environmental offerings, specifically in the D&R areas.
  • Able to travel regionally and globally (as needed) to represent Advisian and/or broader Worley in sales pursuits and support teams/projects.
