UPSTREAM SERVICES SALES & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Reporting

  • The position is based in the U.A.E. reporting to the Regional Upstream Business Development Manager

Primary Responsabilities

  • Achieve sales targets for upstream services in the region securing “one-off” projects and long term contracts for services including field sampling, on-site analysis, fixed lab services, consultancy and production optimisation projects including introduction of new technologies to clients in the region coordinating with tender team to prepare technical and commercial offers and pre-qualification submissions.
  • Pro-actively promote SGS services through personal network of contacts, face to face meetings with clients, technical presentations, conferences and workshops
  • Prepare quotes, technical proposals and respond to RFQ and tender requests including preparation of Associated investment proposals as required to meet growth targets.
  • Identify client points of contact and client needs, identifying scope for growth and maintaining an active engagement with target client decision makers to promote awareness of SGS capabilities and understanding of client needs
  • Actively identify services and solutions required and liaise with Service Line Managers and BD managers to finalise technical / commercial offers
  • Document regional sales plan and provide regular reports on progress
  • Identify opportunities for growth of Advanced Mineralogy, EOR, Microbial Assessment and other specialised upstream analytical services. Support introduction of integrated services and specialised field services in cooperation with partners.
  • Maintain competitiveness of SGS offering insuring that up to date information is maintained on competitor technical capabilities and service pricing
  • Report progress against planned activities using CRM Online and other reporting formats in a timely and concise manner

Specific Responsabilities

  • Regular client contact to prospect for new business and promote SGS service offering
  • Use relationships with regional leadership and Service Lines to secure new sales with existing clients and meet regional growth targets continuing to secure growth in analytical services needed to meet UAE lab performance targets
  • Maintaining awareness of market rates and complying with Golden Rules of Pricing in preparing commercial offers.
  • Optimise utilisation of available assets to maximise incremental contribution from new business secured
  • Coordinate tender/RFQ submissions with admin team in line with Middle East strategies
  • Make sales plans and forecasts for existing and new products/services
  • Maintain records of all sales activities using CRM/sales pipeline
  • Work with operational teams to insure that a high level of customer service quality is provided
  • Participate in the annual budget planning process as required
  • Work closely with other SGS upstream service lines e.g. well testing operations, cased hole services, sub-surface consulting group, metering & instrumentation and to support and develop cross-business projects to integrate SGS combined Upstream services.
  • Be conversant with the SGS Group’s goals, objectives, strategy and business environment
  • At all times, adopt safe behavior by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS employees and clients, in line with SGS policies and procedures
  • Comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct

Profile

Professional qualifications & profile

  • Possess a university degree in a related technical or marketing discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in upstream sector within operations and/or services environment
  • Track record of success in sales and promotion of upstream services including relevant experience in the Middle East region
  • Exhibit a thorough understanding of E&P technologies, processes and practices - in particular, well site services, lab analytical services and production enhancement.
  • Highly competent in financial and commercial aspects of tender response, investment decision making and contract / commercial agreements for upstream services
  • Sets high standards, self motivated, and results driven

  • Technical proficiency in identifying and assessing appropriate targets for SGS services
  • Experience of tendering process and pricing
