Offshore Structural Engineer (Expression of Interest) in United States

Brief Posting Description

We are seeking expressions of interest from local candidates with a background in offshore structural engineering, specifically with floating and fixed platform topsides design, to join our team in Houston. The successful candidate will be required to undertake structural analysis in SACS, communicate engineered solutions to design, and perform checks on calculations and drawings.

Detailed Description

Key responsibilities of the position:

Staff engineer position responsible for performing various structural analyses on sections of a topsides for either a floating facility or fixed platform.

Responsible for assuring the structural design meets all project structural design basis requirements as well as applicable codes.

Responsible for working alongside structural designers and ensuring that the results of engineering are communicated effectively through sketches (AutoCAD or PDMS).

Develop structural reports/documentation for client approval and follow up on outstanding approvals.

Attend project meetings and act occasionally as structural team representative.

Job Requirements

The successful applicant will have a proactive customer focus, in addition to the following:

Must have 5+ years experience in offshore topsides structural engineering.  Jacket, pile, and floatover deck design experience is a plus.  Experience with transportation, installation, and spectral fatigue analyses is preferred.

Must have demonstrated working knowledge of the SACS suite of software.  Must have ability to view/read in 3D modeling software such as PDMS.  Experience with MOSES, ANSYS, SESAM, and USFOS is a plus.

Intermediate/ advanced level skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

The ability to coordinate multiple tasks.

Internal drive, initiative and proactive nature.
