Job Description

a. Education : Minimum B.S in Mechanical Engineering

b. Experience : 8 years in Static Equipment design for Oil and Gas industry plant projects particularly LNG

c. Basic Job Requirements : To provide technical evaluation and design review for Steel structure in the Topside document

Topside Static Equipment Assessment

Coordinate analysis of structural aspects for Static Equipment in Topside design; analysis will include but not limited to :

  • Static Equipments strength and stability of elements in Topside (i.e.,fatigue, vibration and motion analysis)
  • Impact of weight and centre of gravity

Review Static equipment design provided Contractor and make recommendations, if necessary; design will cover, but not limited to :

-Static equipment, i.e.,heat exchangers, vessels, columns and miscellaneous sump tanks

  • Ensure that ancillary components that are included in equipment design do not affect Topside’s technical integrity and reliability
  • Review Material Compatibility assessment for Static Equipment
  • Provide technical content for EPC bidding process based on approved final design
  • Provide input data to :

-FLNG Plot Plan Study

-Fire and explosion risk analysis, if any

-FLNG Hazard Mitigation Plan and Risk Management Plan, if any

Technical Assurance and Integrity

  • Ensure that subordinates challenge Contractor’s assumptions loading data and review calculation and their drawings during design phase
  • Ensure the achievement of assigned goals and the compliance of the project quality requirements
  • Verify the design integrity of work and to ensure that the proposed solutions are technically sound and meet operability and maintainability requirements
  • Keep in monitoring and evaluation of the design changes to the original scope of work and verify the implementation of these approval
  • Organize and attend QA/QC inspections, if any
  • Review and approval detailed drawings and procedures of Static Equipment submitted by Contractor

Planning, Costs and Risk Management

  • Review that detail cost estimation and schedule provided by contractor
  • Identify long lead items and ensure that purchase orders for these items are proper scheduled in due time to delays
  • Monitor progress of Contractor work; inform possible delays and recommend appropriate solutions to Senior Static Equipment Engineer
  • Provide input to FLNG risk assessment and mitigation measures to Senior Static Equipment Engineer
  • Ensure compliance with all Project interfaces and supervise information exchange among relative section

Contractor Management

  • Ensure that Contractor provides complete technical documentation including analysis reports
  • Identify scope and develop specifications for EPC phase
  • Ensure technical design documents review and proper comments / recommendations, if any
  • Contribute to technical design reviews and audits

Contribution for team

  • Participate in Systems Integration, peer reviews and other initiatives as required
  • Encourage commitment to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing among subordinates
  • Any other activities as requested to support project’s success

  • Reporting to Sr. Static Equipment Engineer
  • Command of the English language written and spoken
