Leadership

  • Leadership of the retail business in the region to deliver a compelling customer offer, as well as the HSSEQ, E&C, financial, operational and people key performance metrics for the business
  • Leverage and develop strong internal and external relationships with local government, landlords, suppliers and customers to ensure execution of the retail strategy, and delivery of annual plans, plus effective management of BPs reputation
  • Actively engage in the development and delivery of the broader Retail China BU agenda

Risk Management

  • Safe and reliable operations across the network, ensuring compliance with BP process and procedures
  • Legally compliant and BP compliant retail operations adhering to the BP code of conduct, and full transparency around any breaches or concerns

Organisation & Culture

  • People leadership including effective capability development and succession planning
  • Ensure transfer of BP Retail best practices and Values & behaviours

Assets

  • Determine and deliver site investment strategies in line with BP approved Network strategies
  • Ensure Safe and efficient build program is in place to support the network development program
  • Ensure full utilisation of assets via best in class supply, maintenance, and procurement activities

Operations & Marketing

  • Ensure retail policies, tools, and best in class operating practices are in place across CO model of operations
  • Deliver and monitor DO model of operations
  • Drive culture of continuous improvement within Operations & Marketing
  • Implement BP Marketing strategies, and develop local marketing programs in line with BP strategy

Results

  • In year delivery of performance targets, including HSSE, E&C, financial, people, customer/brand
  • Embedded and Understood policies and procedures across all areas of the business

  • Set up of a new business, start up : set up of processes, policies and culture, ensuring BP best practices and standards are reflected appropriately

Job profile summary:

The Retail Regional Manager BP Hunan has full accountability for the safety, compliance, operational, and financial performance of the retail business across 3 provinces (Hunan, Jiangxi, Sichuan). The role is manager of the regional leadership team, and as such is accountable for planning, managing and delivering all day-to-day activities of the Retail business; providing direction to the local team, developing capabilities and driving performance delivery, in terms of HSSE, E&C as well as financial. They are also a member of the China Retail Leadership Team, supporting the development and implementation of the overall China Retail BU strategy. As this is a new business, the jobholder, supported by the BU Team, will be accountable for managing the set-up, putting in place BP HSSEQ, E&C, financial and operational processes, and creating a strong team culture.

Purpose of role:
The Retail Regional Manager has full accountability for the safety, compliance, operational, and finance performance in this region. Key requirements
  • 10+ years of relevant business experience
  • Experience in new business set up or business integration
  • Strong Team leadership, role modelling and coaching
  • Experience on risk management; HSSEQ and E&C compliance
  • Proven track record in developing strong relationships
  • (not needed if retail competencies are included) Commercially astute and innovative with a track record of commercial delivery
  • Fluent English; Mandarin is a strong advantage
  • Retail industry experience is an advantage
