Spencer Ogden is searching for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join a Global O&G Service Company. Position will be based out of Houston, TX. The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for supporting Supply Chain Management in the selection, approval and development of the supplier. The position has offers a fast career progression with 40% of domestic/international travel.
Job duties include, but are not limited:
•Support Supply Chain Management in the supplier selection and approval process
•Provide technical expertise and technical consulting in quality assurance, quality control, measurements, reports and industry requirements. This includes participating in production and engineering meetings, developing quality specifications and systems
•As Assessing results to provide assurance or identify issues and make recommendations
•Asessing results to provide assurance or identify issues and make recommendations
•Perform supplier audits to include quality, technical and HS&E on new and existing suppliers as needed.
•Perform supplier developmental work when suppliers are identified as needing support in order to meet Cameron requirements.
• Collect, analyze and monitor supplier performance metrics and work with suppliers to develop quality improvement plans
• Approve new suppliers to the Approved Vendor List
•Perform tactical support for supplier issues identified in the fabrication sites.
•Perform source inspection at supplier locations
•25 - 45% travel required (domestic and international).

Job Requirements/ Qualifications

•B.S. in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical, Manufacturing or Chemical.
•4 - 9 years in supplier quality management, preferably O&G experience
•ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
•Knowledge of ISO 9001 (International Standard Organization) / API Q1 (American Petroleum Institute).
•Knowledge of ASME Section VIII and Section IX code
•Experience in the use of GD&T and be able to read and interpret blueprint
•Proven track record in supplier development and improvement activities
•Strong background in lean manufacturing
•Ability to use mechanical inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, ruler
•Knowledge of welding is a plus, CWI is a plus
•Basic knowledge in Surface and Volumetric NDT Methods
•Must be eligible to work in the United States of America
