Purpose:

Worley is currentlylooking for an experienced Principal Planner/Scheduler for a 3-6 monthassignment in the Houston area. This role will be responsible for ensuringproject delivery in line with client requirements through the development of aproject wide WBS.
This position is Contingent uponAward of a Contract.




Responsibilities:
 
  • Duties will include developing and maintaining a detailed master schedule, procurement and logistics plan and also to support and work with consultants and contractors to develop their contractual schedules.
  • Administering scheduling activities through project set-up, Engineering and Procurement or Construction, Systems turnover and Commissioning phases. 
  • Understand the project life cycle and be able to develop Level 4 project networks in accordance with the project requirements
  • Will be developing the Work Breakdown Structure in tendering stage
  • Controlling of Baseline Schedule and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Closely work with the contractor planners to ensure alignment of project planning and reporting
  • Systematically break a complex task into more manageable parts and identify the critical component of a problem and follow existing guidelines to resolve issues
  • Communicate potential solutions to stakeholders
  • The ability to work both independently and within a Team to achieve common goals on multiple projects
  • Utilize Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel to schedule multiple on-going projects
  • Understand all relevant documentation pertaining to the project including scope of services, conditions of contract, project execution plan, project schedule, etc.
  • Work within the standard Planning / Scheduling procedures
  • Ensure that these procedures fulfil Client requirements and develop additional project-specific procedures where necessary
  • Produce progress reports in line with project requirements
  • Prepare and issue project action reports to Project Manager
  • Assist Project Manager in controlling project budget, schedule and costs
  • Develop & maintain the planning and progress monitoring procedures
  • Maintain accurate schedule and control curves in an updated condition and prepare forecasts of trends
  • Provide and maintain planning and scheduling statistics derived from completed projects

 


What youwill bring




Required Technical and Industry Experience: 

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
  • Minimum 15 years of project planning experience
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with others (verbally, written and meetings).
  • Ability to apply Critical Path Method planning techniques to develop detail Engineering and Installation Project networks and schedules.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management techniques to measure/status and monitor performance.
  • Familiarity with the Project Management Body of Knowledge approach to Project Management techniques.
  • Proven ability to negotiate, mediate and delegate
  • A pro-active approach to solving problems and getting the job done
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Projects and spreadsheets, with database capability is required Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

 
Education Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
  • High School Diploma with 15 years of project planning experience



Preferred:


 
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Finance & Accounting, Business or related field
